Hypomania Checklist Validation

[edit]

According to Meyer et al. the hypomania checklist is a good indicator of the diagnosis more so when comparing Bipolar Disorder to unipolar depression versus other diagnostic categories, such as anxiety, schizophrenia and more. This shows that the HCL-32 checklist is a valid predictor of most of those who have Bipolar Disorder, it is not however true that high scores of HCL-32 result in Bipolar Disorder. It was also stated that the HCL-32 can be used for seeking help for depression, however it shouldn't be the only thing used for diagnosing. [1]
