Re: WP Surrey

Hi,

Yep, I am happy to help with improving the articles in the WikiProject. I not been very active on WP for a little while due to me being super busy and this may continue for a little while longer, but I'll try and contribute when I can!

Thanks GlanisTalk 15:52, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

I'm also willing to help, if there is an article you fancy collaborating on then just put it on the project page/talk & we can discuss what needs doing and how to go about it. --Mrmatiko (talk) 17:45, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks ever so much. Also, if there is any part of Surrey that you are particulary strong at please do you best to improve them. This would be a great help. Personally, as it is the srticle I've put the most effort into, I think we should start with trying to get Woking to a Featured Article Status.

Thanks again for helping, pbl1998--Pbl1998 (talk) 18:03, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi,

Yep, I am happy to help with improving the articles in the WikiProject. Hello, am willing in principle, haven't been active for a while but will do what I can. Unfortunately, I'm very busy getting distracted and procrastinating on Facebook trying to write a novel, or two, or three... not quite sure at the moment! --Vox Humana 8' 03:47, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

AFC Backlog

Articles for Creation urgently needs YOUR help!

Articles for Creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 3387 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our Help Desk.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Wikipedia is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Are you autoconfirmed?
  5. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.

PS: we have a great AFC helper script at User:Timotheus Canens/afchelper4.js which helps in reviewing in just few edits easily!

We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 2 or 3 reviews, it would be extremely beneficial.

Problem!

Hi PBL

I need some help because this user User:Charlesdrakew is messing around with wikiproject Woking and being quite rude to me!

Thanks,

Willrocks10 (talk) 13:26, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, of course

pbl1998Pbl1998 (talk) 18:26, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

CharlesdrakeW has now started messing around with this page on Wikiproject Surrey: Wikipedia:WikiProject Surrey/Participants.

Willrocks10 (talk) 10:29, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Guys (Mostly directed to Willrocks10), I know you'll probably take this the wrong way, but please don't. All that Charles is doing is helping to bring both the Surrey and Woking projects up to scratch. One of the important things about Wikipedia is that it is open and free to be edited by anyone. Whilst you may not agree with their opinion you should discuss it first before reverting their edits - FYI Willrocks10 you have technically violated the Three revert rule and could technically be banned! The reason that Charles is performing these edits particularly to the Woking project is because the whole thing was written in a very childish manner, and was not in keeping with the Wikipedia tone and expectations. It is also an important point to note that no user ever "owns" anything on Wikipedia, it is released and anyone may edit it freely so expect your edits to be changed and if you don't agree discuss it on either the article or user talk page before reverting it. I hope this is clear, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page, or ask another of the more experienced editors in the project. Thanks, GlanisTalk 16:24, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Charles

Exactly! I don't get it either! He is always rude and forceful and always gets away with it. On a few of the articles I created, he was deleting references so that he could have grounds for deletion, just because he seems to hate buses!  Adam Mugliston  Talk  21:29, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Again: Exactly! Just deletes everything he can to do with buses! You would not believe the number of arguments we had and how many times I just lost it with him... I don't understand why people don't stick to what they enjoy doing/writing about and not get mixed in with something they don't understand!  Adam Mugliston  Talk  21:45, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the invites. I'll take a look, but the only times I've been in Surrey was a) passing on my way to Hampshire on the M3 b) on my way back from holiday 6 days ago, c) At a family meet in Reigate, which was about 3 hours, so I don't know much about Surrey, but I might be able to help with buses.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  21:54, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Well, I just joined the Woking one! I also remembered my great aunt lives in Byfleet.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  22:25, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, near Oyster Lane in Byfleet. My pleasure . I'm logging off for tonight, talk tomorrow.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  22:28, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Morning! I swear Charles is stalking me. Look at my talk page, he left a caution message. He is stalking my contribs for about 3 years now and I really hate that. What do you think I should do?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  10:08, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
I tried WP:HOUND. And now Stuart.Jamieson is getting involved. Them two have always been together against me and buses and you know what the funny things is? Stuart.Jamieson works with buses as his job. Now how does that work?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  10:49, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
Well I did try WP:HOUND, look at what I put on his talkpage. I'm all for it but where do we go to with that?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  10:59, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
By the way, I expanded the Bus section of Woking.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  11:08, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I've seen those. So who/where do we go to talk about his hounding?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  11:11, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Well I've already e-mailed Worm, who knows about mine and Charles' past. Any other admins you'd like to get involved, go ahead, just tell me who.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  11:14, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Rogue Article, or not?

Do you have any views on Gatton, Surrey whether it is worthy of its own article?
Consider: we already have Gatton (UK Parliament constituency) for when it was a famed Rotten Borough.
