Sure, but it doesn't seem like I removed any information from the article, and if you mean I made it grammatically incorrect, I'm not sure which part you are referring to. The last sentence I know might be incorrect, but it is a very awkward thing to say, and I'm not sure how to correct it. Maybe it would be best in parenthesis, like you had it. If you are referring to stress verses stresses, stress seems cleaner and just as correct to me, but if you really want stresses, that is fine with me too. Basar 18:26, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: question about creating an article

[edit]

I have a quick question about creating an article about a company. I have noticed that companies have their own pages about their company. What is your policy for creating pages about a company? Take Hp for instance, their website is all about their company, from how it got started to where it began. I am the webmaster for a company called Pile Dynamics, Inc. and we would like to insert a page about our site, however I do not want it to be considered spamming. I had previously added links to our website where we had additional information, and I have come to the understanding that doing so is considered spamming. I do not wish to spam your site so I would like to get the policy clear and from reading what you have posted I am not sure that I understand whether creating a site for my company would be considered spamming. Please give me your input on this subject Thank you so much for your time, Pdigrl 14:50, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notable companies are defined as such using the criteria at WP:CORP. Regards, (aeropagitica) 14:58, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Send me some of the information you want included, and I'll put together an article, trying to stay clear of WP:SPAM. I've found one or two references to Pile Dynamics in technical journals; additional sources where people not connected to PDI (so nothing by Goble, Rausch, or Likins) would help immensely to establish that PDI meets the requirements of WP:CORP.
Additionally, if you are the webmaster, it should be possible to obtain licensing for some images and/or text which is acceptable to Wikipedia. However, this is a tricky subject, and I would not advise releasing everything under the GFDL. Argyriou (talk) 18:09, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
