Information icon Hello, I'm Railfan23. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Waunfawr railway station seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Railfan23 (talk) 23:47, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Beddgelert railway station. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Railfan23 (talk) 23:58, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Pont Croesor railway station, you may be blocked from editing. Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Welsh Highland Railway restoration. Railfan23[edit]

Dear Railfan23, I am sorry you are upset - I was trying to help. Most of the events were 20 or even 30 years ago and one has to allow for longer term historical balance. I would be happy to discuss with you the proposed changes and abbreviations, as well as the corrections of the occasional inaccuracy. I do not know who you are, but having been quite closely involved with these narrow-gauge affairs for many years, you may well be known to me, either in person or by reputation. With every expression of esteem, Pedr Jarvis.

I am not upset. I am warning you that your editing is running afoul of a central tenet of Wikipedia. Specifically, it is critical that Wikipedia articles are written from a neutral point of view. Please read the linked explanation of what a neutral point of view is and why it is one of Wikipedia's five pillars.
This is not about accuracy or historical balance. It is about the neutrality of voice and proper sourcing. Let me give you an example. This is an edit you made to Beddgelert railway station. You wrote: "We still recommend the ice-cream shop in the village...." who is the "we" in this case? You? The WHR Co? Wikipedia? This is an example of you inserting your personal point of view into an article, which is inappropriate and expressly forbidden by policy. An encyclopedia reports the facts as recorded in reliable sources, and not the personal opinions of any editor who happens to swing by.
Here is another example from one of your edits to Welsh Highland Railway restoration: "This uncompromisingly modern structure fits surprisingly well in its surroundings...the station is alleged to be covered in a silver dragon skin, but on close inspection the scales are of stainless steel!" where "uncompromisingly modern structure fits surprisingly well in its surroundings" is pure personal opinion, and the claim that the "station is alleged to be covered in a silver dragon skin" is also unsourced personal opinion, and unsuited to an encyclopedia article.
I would strongly urge you to read through the five pillars, especially the policies on maintaining a netural point of view and verifiability. Your editing, while well intentioned, is frequently in breach of these requirements, and you are going to find your edits removed, and potentially your account blocked, if you continue to ignore them.
