I appreciate your work on the wrestling article, I just have one comment to make: The current version completely omits mention of "show wrestling", i.e. things like professional wrestling, wrestling at fairs, etc. Since this is our article about wrestling in general, those "disciplines" and their origin should be included as well. It's also possible that we should have two additional overview articles for sport wrestling and show wrestling, but in any case, this article should serve as an introduction to both subjects. Grappling[edit]

I think your opinion on grappling is completely wrong and that you should stop editing that article... Hey, just kidding! :-) Don't take me seriously! I did like a lot to hear your arguments on the grappling and FILA issues, and I liked even more your good temper and consistency at replying. It's nice to discuss such things in a constructive manner like you did. You really have a strong point, our (not yours) grappling perceptions still need citations to be NPOV, even though they seem to be so, let me say, obivous (to us :-). Regards. Editing talk pages[edit]

You should not delete comments from article talk pages even if they are your own. It keeps things in context. You could have self promoted the article to B-class no big thing as long as the criteria are met. Higher is more difficult. I suggest that after the article stabilizes - say in a month - submit it to peer review.Peter Rehse 01:21, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Wrestling Nerd[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to the wrestling articles. I just got through doing a overhaul of the articles, Amateur wrestling, Freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and Collegiate Wrestling. I didn't do a big edit on the Amateur Wrestling article, but tended to give focus to the particular styles, especially the international ones. The articles on Freestyle wrestling and Collegiate wrestling have pictures for the first time, and I added a few more photos to the Greco-Roman wrestling page. (Some of the photos on the Collegiate Wrestling page, as of now only 7, still have issues left over regarding free licensing, but I've already contacted the photographers about changing their licenses to a free one.) For the articles on Freestyle and Greco-Roman, I've made sure I cited the international wrestling rules published by FILA. For the article on Collegiate wrestling, I've made sure to cite the references to the official rules given by the NCAA.

I've also added the histories of Freestyle, Greco-Roman, and Collegiate wrestling to their respective pages and cited their respective sources.

Since in your words you are an "unapologetic wrestling nerd", could you look over the articles I've articles to check their accuracy and verifiability, especially with regard to the wrestling rules for all three styles? Also, I was wondering if you are able to get access to a copy of the high school (scholastic) wrestling rules published by the National Federation of State High School Associations, the body that governs scholastic wrestling for U.S. high schools. They don't have it online. If so, thanks. Nothing could get more official for a primary source than having the latest rules for high school wrestling. It would be great if you could check over and cite the rulebook for the section "High School Level" on the Collegiate wrestling page.
