Question from Gabryella Russell (22:34, 25 October 2023)
Hello, Can I make my own article? --Gabryella Russell (talk) 22:34, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Gabryella Russell: Hi there! If you mean you want write an article about yourself, this is strongly discouraged and it must be declared. As well, you must submit the article through our article review process called Articles for Creation.
- If the article you want to write is not about yourself, that's great! Please see this guide for tips on getting started. You should also submit the article through Articles for Creation: get started here. Let me know if you have any more questions, thanks. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 04:14, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Question from Ridwan Temitope Adeniyi (08:54, 26 October 2023)
How can i start editing? --Ridwan Temitope Adeniyi (talk) 08:54, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Ridwan Temitope Adeniyi: Hi there, I'm glad you're interested in wanting to edit Wikipedia! This page is a good place to start to learn how to edit. Personally, I would recommend you visit the Community Portal as it showcases many ways you can contribute to an article in small ways, such as fixing spelling and grammar or adding images. Later, I suggest you look at articles within a subject area you are interested in, and read them, and look for ways to improve. For example, you can fix grammar, add citations to reliable sources, or extend the article with new information, etc. Just please make to follow wikipedia's policies (good place to start is here). Thank you, let me know if you have any more questions! — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 04:11, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
DYK for No Highs
On 30 October 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article No Highs, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the album No Highs is a response to the "corporate" ambient music of streaming services? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/No Highs. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, No Highs), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Your userbox
I was trying to put your not notable userbox on my user page, but I couldn’t seem to find the parameter to change {{{1}}} into something else. Can you show me how to use it, please?
Thanks, Shadestar474 (talk) 05:55, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Shadestar474: Hi, {{{1}}} just means its the first unnamed parameter. For example,
Wikitext | userbox | where used |
---|---|---|
{{User:PerfectSoundWhatever/UBX/NotNotable
|
linked pages |
— PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 17:49, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you so much! I was having lots of trouble with it.

Question from VojinDaut (20:17, 20 November 2023)
Hi, what does it take to make an excellent article on Wikipedia? Is it word count, sources quality or something else? --VojinDaut (talk) 20:17, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- @VojinDaut: Hi, thanks for asking! To greatly summarize, an excellent article is one that is neutral, based upon reliable sources, comprehensive, well-written, has all sentences correctly sourced, and covers its subject in appropriate broadness. On Wikipedia, we have "good articles" and "featured articles": peer reviewed articles considered to be Wikipedia's best. If you are looking to write an excellent article, you may find value in looking at the GA and FA criteria: WP:GACR, WP:FACR. Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks! — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 23:17, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from Nanywa (09:12, 26 November 2023)
Question from Seekrait (00:51, 27 November 2023)
Hi! I need to make a wikipedia page for a history class. I am choosing a local history figure and I have been using a book and my volunteer experience to compose the site. I tried to publish and I got rejected. I tried to use some sources I got from ancestry and I forgot to cite the book. Any suggestions? Thanks you --Seekrait (talk) 00:51, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Seekrait: Hi, thanks for your question. To write a wikipedia article, you must use reliable sources (because we want the information to be accurate). If you want to use a book, please cite it. We consider sites like Ancestry and Find a Grave to be unreliable, and you can click on their links to see why. These sources must be removed from the article.
- Also, you mentioned you've been using your "volunteer experience" to write the article. Hopefully this doesn't mean you are adding content without using a source, as this is considered original research, and not allowed. For references, please use inline citations. For a guide to start, please read Help:Referencing for beginners. Importantly, almost every statement in the article must include an inline citation to a reliable source (see WP:MINREF). Remove everything that isn't backed up by a source.
- Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 15:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
