History of the Luftwaffe during World War II

Hi.

At the moment it would take a considerable effort. I think that reaching GA status would require the article to be split up, with a brief description under each section then the main article as a sub article. I also think the History of the Luftwaffe of WWII should be something different. Meaning, that it should perhaps cover the entire histroy of the air force, and this particular article should be renamed the "Combat history of the Luftwaffe During World War Two". I had checked this out before (check out the first archive section). I think renaming the article is in order. Dapi89 (talk) 18:52, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

I think before any attempt is made to start moving around we propose a plan of what needs to be done.

I think we need an article entitled History of the Luftwaffe 1933 - 1945. But this article needs to be split up into a series of subsections that have a brief description, and then are linked to their own main article. Off the top of my head it should be:

• Origins of the Luftwaffe
• Organisation of Reichsluftfahrtministerium
• Organisation of combat units
• Spanish Civil War (concentrating on the benifits and lessons learned from the CL)
• Combat or Campaign History of the Luftwaffe during World War Two - which would essentially be the one we have at the moment, which would be stripped of the irrelevant sections, like "preparing for war".
• Aircraft Production levels
• Pilot Training
• Notable Pilots
• Notable Commanders
• Jet and Rocket propulsion

A brief description of all these in short uncomplicated paragraphs, then linking just a couple that would be worthy of their own articles (link the campaign history and production levels; that I think has its own article already). Dapi89 (talk) 10:29, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
