Thanks for uploading Image:Kinky3.thumb.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, contact Carnildo.

Texas Students Against the Death Penalty[edit]

  • I was considering nominating this group for AfD, but found it to be a notable group based on the media coverage from their web page (some sources more notable then others). To avoid a possible future AfD nomination, this article needs some cleaning up and wikifying. Mine is atleast the second brush with a deletion nomination consideration. --Gay Cdn 22:13, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your deletion of comments at Talk:Hooman Hedayati. Given your username, are you the subject of the article? I'm going to merge it to "Texas Students..." per consensus at AfD that it should be merged somewhere, if not to that specific location.--Kchase02 T 09:03, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your edit to the article.

I noticed on your web site for Mr. Reed (the "About" page) copied the Wikipedia article. I'm flattered that you liked what I and others wrote, but I'd also like to remind you that attributing the source of the material would be the nice thing to do. I doubt that Wikipedia would ever pursue the copyright infringement, but they do have a policy on copying Wikipedia material.

Hey thanks for the message. Since there is 5 links to wikipedia in the page I thought there is no point to mention that the article is from Wikipedia. However I will add it. Yea the one that you made was better than other profiles that I found in google. My friend is going to review it and edit or change something in there. I will update the wikipedia one later on. Let me know if you are interested to help me on the website for Rodney or other death row inmates. Hooman
This is the first time I'm using user talk thing. SO I'm not sure if I'm in the right place
Yup, right place. :) (The usual thing is to reply where the message was posted so I also responded on my talk page, but I also CCed here.) Incidentally, you can sign your name with with tildes, ~~~, or your name with the date and time with four tildes, ~~~~.
Huh. I hadn't noticed the links to the Wikipedia on freerodneyreed.org. That's cool. But I think it'd be appropriate to have an explicit note that the page itself was borrowed from Wikipedia.
I added a wikilink to Texas Students Against the Death Penalty to the article on Mr. Reed.
I was interested in seeing the trial transcripts and crime scene photographs and other evidence entered at trial along with evidence that Mr. Reed's defense have accumulated afterword. I'd be willing to scan anything and everything and post it on the web; I have access to a vast amount of storage.
Cheers. Lunch 15:19, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, I believe it's the Texas Defender Service that's handling Mr. Reed's appeal. They will accept donations for his defense. That is, if you're looking to update the "Donations" link on freerodneyreed.org. Lunch 19:09, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hey, can you email me the documents you have to hooman(att)texasabolition.org so i upload it to the website? persiancowboy 13:57, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have a law degree or anything like that, but I'm curious, do you know why Reed hasn't been prosecuted for a similar stranger-rape case that otherwise seems to be on hold? This particular woman survived the assault. She couldn't describe or identify her attacker, but the DNA evidence is Reed's. One would think that if the prosecutors went ahead with this case, then they could show Reed has a prior record of raping strangers. Is it just that with a death sentence already in hand, the state doesn't want to waste the money on a lesser crime? Rklawton 01:44, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violation[edit]

Copyright problems[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Sharon Keller, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://sharonkiller.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=18&Itemid=35. As a copyright violation, Sharon Keller appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Sharon Keller has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Sharon Keller and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Sharon Keller with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Sharon Keller.

However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia.

I would like to have an article on Judge Keller, though, so if you are unable to do so without copying and pasting from copyrighted text, I will do my best to get one up within a week or so. —bbatsell ¿? 05:41, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Robert E. Lee High School (San Antonio, Texas), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.neisd.net/lee/admin/main.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Robert E. Lee High School (San Antonio, Texas). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Damat Mehmed Ali Paşa, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Damat Mehmed Ali Paşa provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Damat Mehmed Ali Paşa, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. WikiProject University of Texas at Austin Collaboration for August 2009[edit]

The current WP:UT collaboration for the period ending August 31, 2009 is:

University of Texas at Austin#History

Our September 2009 project is TBD. If you would like to nominate an article for a future project please add a nomination under that month's section or to see what articles we've already collaborated on, please visit the Collaboration talk page.

WP:UT's first priority is getting the flagship article (UT Austin) back to GA status and ultimately, FA status. So lets take this in baby steps and focus on one section at a time, and what better section the the first: history! Any contributions would be appreciated and... Hook 'em Horns! File permission problem with File:Asb2006.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Asb2006.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 20:50, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Persiancowboy. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Marjan (singer), for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Marjan (singer) to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks,
