Nominating List of recessions as a WP:FLC

Hi, I have nominated List of recessions as a WP:FLC at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of recessions. I would appreciate it if you could look over the article and comment on the FLC. Thanks for your time! Gary King (talk) 01:29, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

I made a comment on the FLC page saying that the 'Comments' column was being redone and please wait an hour before criticizing that. I guess you miss the memo :P Gary King (talk) 02:46, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Princess Alice of the United Kingdom

Hi Peter, recently the naming conventions for royalty and nobility were clarified to state that the consorts of kings and emperors were to be titled Name of Place while the consorts of grand dukes, dukes, princes, margraves, counts, landgraves, etc, were to be titled Title Name of Place. This is how it was carried out in practise and now that convention has been confirmed. The reason to me, it seems, is that there is a natural division between kings/emperors and other reigning sovereigns. Kings and emperors carry the style of Majesty in varying forms while all other sovereigns are styled Highness in one form or another, further cementing that division. I hope that this makes sense. Hi, I have just nominated Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of tallest buildings in Toronto. I would appreciate it if you could look over the article and post your concerns on the page. Thanks for your time! Gary King (talk) 03:19, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I still need more Support votes for this, so if you have time, could you take a look over it and include your support or opposition? Thanks! Gary King (talk) 06:56, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Regarding User:Kelw's vote, he has not responded back as to why he Opposes and whether or not any of the fixes I made helped to improve the article or not. What can I do about that? Gary King (talk) 22:18, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Raime (talk · contribs) already gave the article a Support so I don't think he also needs to state that kelw (talk · contribs)'s Oppose is justified or not. Gary King (talk) 22:42, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I have just nominated Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of billionaires (2007)/archive1. If you have time, please look it over and post any concerns that you might have about the article. Thanks! Gary King (talk) 19:13, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Screenshot of list of recessions.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Screenshot of list of recessions.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:36, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Requesting a peer review of Facebook

I have requested a peer review of Facebook at Wikipedia:Peer review/Facebook/archive2. If you have time, please add your comments. I wish to nominate this as a Featured Article one day. Thanks! Gary King (talk) 18:12, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Could you please take a look at what has been addressed? Thanks! Gary King (talk) 07:38, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay, but can you archive the topics that have been addressed? The page is getting a bit too long. Thanks! Gary King (talk) 18:35, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Everything has been responded to now. If you have time, please re-read the article and note any new concerns. I've made a lot of major changes to the article since your first peer review. Gary King (talk) 02:35, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay, it's been nominated for a GAN. I'll cross my fingers! Gary King (talk) 19:08, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Subject: Help from Sunsetsunrise (talk) 01:06, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your welcome. How do you find if an article has been on the main page? Or who mainly contributed to the article? And I'm unclear what to put on my user page...

User Edit Counter

Yeah, I was looking at that. But how do I use a visual interface and apply it to my userpage? I'm thinking a floting nav based on screenshot? I thought there would be a simple script or template though already in the works. Thanks for the response. --InvisibleDiplomat666 18:01, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Jobs in dubai, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Jobs in dubai and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. TomStar81 (Talk) 20:27, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

thanks, although it appears that I have gotten rusty since the warning message is supposed to go on the talk page of the guy who created the article, and the revision history says that ain't you. Its a mute point now, but I have pay more attention to that in the future. Cheers. TomStar81 (Talk) 20:31, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Apology

Hi, I just wanted to apologise for not contacting you regarding the post at the FLC talk page. It never even crossed my mind to do that. As I've said, I have nothing against you, or the lists you've supported, so I hope we can continue to work on Wikipedia without this affecting anything. -- Matthew | talk | Contribs 20:07, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Peer review and FLCs

Hi Peter. If you have the time could you look at Degrassi: The Next Generation and comment at it's peer review, please? It just got given GA status and I want to take it to FAC soon.

Wow! That PR is a lot to be getting on with! Thank you though, all input to make it the best it can be is appreciated. I'll start addressing the points either today or tomorrow (real life and all!) -- Matthew | talk | Contribs 19:00, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I've done all the comments you left. I think they've really helped, so thank you. The list was rather big, so can you put them in a hide box, please? -- Matthew | talk | Contribs 01:47, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Assistence on something

Hey PeterSymonds I really like the McGill article, but I want to improve it past just a few minor edits. I want to add some more details and possibly nominate it for FA. Could you tell me where to start? Thanks --Sunsetsunrise (talk) 00:52, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Tagging year lists

I don't think it should be necessary under normal circumstances to tag such lists as 1952 in Norway with maintenance tags. These are comparable to [[1952]. __meco (talk) 12:19, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Mineral Interlinking

Hi,

Further to our discussion at Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:Gems_.26_Crystals, what (in your opinion) is the best way to start a project or task-force to create interlinking-templates for all mineral varieties? Should I try to approach the issue via an existing project with a different scope (e.g. Wikipedia:WikiProject_Rocks_and_minerals, which concerns top-of-page infoboxes for individual minerals), or is it best to start a fresh project? Additionally, is it best to use a task-force or Wiki-project? Whilst the scope of the project is relatively small, and may be considered as an extention to other projects, there are significant issues as to how the templates should be constructed. (Classifying minerals is a tricky business, and where you have 10 geologists, you'll have 11 opinions on how it should be done.)

Thanks for your help. Hyperdeath (talk) 22:42, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

I've responded to your comments at Wikipedia:Peer review/PHP/archive2. Please respond back. Cheers. Gary King (talk) 04:40, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

More questions. You said this. "You can challenge someone's sources via the talk page, or providing a more scholarly source, but be careful. You can add it to the legacy section, but it would need to be backed up by at least two reliable and scholarly sources."

So. Do I go to the talk page of the person who made the sources to challenge it. Do I do it on my talk page with a think like the help feature. And what is the legacy section and how does it work?

I've really tried to figure out this stuff without asking people but I'm having a tough time. I really want to be able to contribute to Wikipedia though.

[[User:AlvisFreeman|Alvis Freeman(talk) 18:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

THANKS! It means a lot to me that you spent the time to explain how it works. I'm going to gather my sources and make some editing sometime this week. You'll be suprised. It's VERY much a debateable subject.

Hi. While this is still going on, I've just made my final touch-ups on the list for a little known French/Canadian children's cartoon called The Bellflower Bunnies. I think I am the only Wikipedian who knows so much, so far, about the show and its original book series material.

I'm also willing to submit this as an FLC in a few days. Tell me what you think of the page, and I'll address concerns soon. --Slgrandson (How's my egg-throwing coleslaw?) 00:15, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
