I just signed up for an account yesterday, because I have become interested in physics and am researching all sorts of things, and came across a page about hot-air balloons that I wanted to get some information on.
I'm not really an expert in anything, but have a fair understanding of basic physical principles, which I'm hoping to improve on. I'm particularly interested in mechanics, fluid mechanics including aerodynamics, and any interesting gizmos.
I have researched a little into hybrid flight technologies, and did some early designs for a human-powered aircraft using helium-filled compartments, such that the craft was still heavier than air, but much easier to give the remaining lift needed for flight.
