DYK for Run (meme)[edit]

On 18 March 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Run (meme), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that "runology" is the study of how to run away from China? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Run (meme). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Run (meme)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Question[edit]

So, I saw, why did you undo the edit on Run about the game Run (by Player_3) being removed from the article Run? Based the game's name is "Run", it actually would make sense to it to be in there. What was wrong with it? Blower Pot (talk) 20:18, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Blower Pot. The rationale was that per MOS:DABRED, red links should be added to disambiguation pages only when it will plausibly link to a (future) article. From a cursory google search, the game does not appear to satisfy Wikipedia's notability requirements and is therefore unlikely to warrant its own article. Not including a red link would avoid this particular problem, but per MOS:DABNOLINK, there are some other sets of requirements that the game does not satisfy.
In plain language without referencing these long-winded rules, there are simply too many things out there with the same name (e.g. what if I write a song named Run and publish it on YouTube?), so excluding content is necessary. PetraMagna (talk) 21:20, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
