I reinstated the background section on why the compilations are forty hadith, and not some other number. I'm not so sure about the quote: what does it illustrate, other than that it is from the book? --Pgallert (talk) 16:29, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

That wasn't about the quote, that was about the sentence In the preface to Forty Hadith, Khomeini writes that he had permission to relate hadith on the authority of three Islamic scholars, who he calls his teachers: Shaykh Muhammad Reza Najafi Isfahani, Shaykh Abbas Qummi, and Allamah Sayyid Muhsin Amin al-Amili. Now, I read this sentence in a way that Khomeini describes the last part of the chain of narrators - not sure if I am correct in this, but if so then it is certainly relevant for the article on the book. The Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018).

Hi, [[1]] was actually a rather insidious vandalism that took me a while to identify. Another editor has reverted it back to my version. Community consensus restricts this permission to active account creators, that includes those in outreach and educational activities. This is a procedural action in line with community consensus and should not affect your editing or the encyclopedia in any way. You should have no problem obtaining this permission if it is needed again, but I will note that the activity requirement is not and never has been strictly enforced and it has indeed been substantially longer than 45 days since you've had to employ this permission. @Swarm: I'm sure you have consensus among the toolserver user community for this particular round of removals. I doubt you do among the people doing outreach. The policy says may be removed, not must, shall, or will. The last time it happened there was at least a prior notice for me so that I could chime into the discussion. Should I ever need the flag again, it will cost 10 minutes of my time, 15 minutes for an admin to check my standing, and then 5 minutes of your time to remove it again. On the contrary, the consensus was determined by an RfC that was open to the community for over two months. And I can't see any way it would take more than 60 seconds to submit a procedural request to have the right re-enabled, nor should it take longer than that to look at your logs and reenable the permission. Procedural revocations are always overturned almost automatically, provided inactivity is no longer the case. For the record, I understand your defensiveness and frankly I agree that users should be allowed to carry the flag indefinitely like any other permission, but AFAIK that has never been the case with this particular permission. I carried AC for a long time despite not being active, I was proud to be part of a specialized and restrictive user group and I would certainly be annoyed if I'd had it revoked, but I will certainly say that having the flag didn't effect my editing at all. As for this being a bad use of time, well, enforcing the rules as determined by the community is simply part of the job. This task falls to the handful of administrators involved in Permissions and we ourselves shirk this duty enough as it is. Swarm ♠ 21:58, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Without sources I cannot improve it, and the original Finnish magazine I do not have, and could not read even if I could access it. User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. Hello. I've revamped the contest page into this, based on the new British model. Long term goal, but I've added entries since the beginning of July to give it some initial life. Please add anything you've done since then on this too! All your Namibian contributions can be added! I hope it proves productive long term. The contests are still planned, but will be more tools towards increasing bulk output in overall goal. It's a permanent goal now, and open! I would be grateful if you could keep a record of all your articles you do there, as I really think seeing the combined efforts will encourage others to create more content too! Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately I've run into some editors from Nigeria who've now walked out on the contests becuase they didn't like work done last month and July being added to the list. To avoid conflict with the other contests and coordinators I've made it strictly from beginning of September. One article you did on Aug 31 can count though! I had thought showcasing some of the ones done might encourage more people to produce, but looks like we're going to have to start from scratch! It'll be a great challenge long term though, but regaining the support of the Nigerian editors isn't likely I'm afraid. Cheers Pgallert. Yes, the overall 10,000 drive isn't a contest, it's a way of working together on something as a whole and inspiring editors to create more content I think. Diversity plays a role in that too as you say and increases interest. When people see a lot of articles coming in it inspires them to also want to edit. I'm planning on doing a general Africa Destubathon now, with every country included, so Namibia will also benefit from that. Hi. thanks for your contributions towards the challenge. I'm running Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon from October 15 to November 27 which needs contributors. Before it starts contestants will be asked if they want articles done for it to also count towards the 10,000 challenge, and it's also a chance to win some prizes for contributing towards the whole range of countries, so sign up at the destubathon if interested! Even if not interested in prizes, there will be the focus on destubbing anyway and hopefully people can still be a part of it. If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!

Hi ww2censor! Indeed, the page German South West Africa was moved to German South-West Africa, with a dash, and for the third time. I thought that by adjusting the many incoming links we can avoid having a fourth page move. The non-dashed version, as I was told, is even grammatically wrong, as it would refer to the south of West Africa, not to the south-west of Africa.
