Possible workshop in Windhoek

Hi Pgallert, your old email seems to no longer work so I have decided to drop you a line here instead. One of the Wikimedia South Africa chapter members (who is very involved in Afrikaans Wikipedia) has recently connected with a Namibian newspaper (Die Republikein) and it looks like a Wikipedia workshop might come out of that in Windhoek. I just wanted to let you know in case you might be interested in participating or learning more about it. It is still early days and I don't know the format that Deon is planning but he would love to connect with Wikipedia editors in Namibia such as yourself. --Discott (talk) 20:18, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi Douglas, great to hear from you! I have met Deon some years back at WikiIndaba in Jo'burg. If there is any way I can assist, please let me know. --Pgallert (talk) 20:21, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
Fantastic, please email/message me and I we can take this discussion offline. Discott (talk) 13:26, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

Local embassy request

Hi. I saw your name listed at Wikipedia:Local Embassy. I was wondering if you could add a relevant MOS:IPA tag for the pronunciation of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp in the article Duke of Holstein-Gottorp. Cheers! Thinker78 (talk) 16:26, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

Hi Thinker78! While I know how to pronounce that bulky place name I'm sorry I have no experience with the phonetic alphabet. However, at Schleswig-Holstein the pronunciation of this entity is listed as pronounced [ˌʃleːsvɪç ˈhɔlʃtaɪn] , and the 'Gottorp' should per Help:IPA/Standard German simply be German pronunciation: [ɡɔtɔʀp], but that's nothing more than an educated guess from me. Hope that helps a bit! --Pgallert (talk) 17:51, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Quinton van Rooyen

Hello Pgallert,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Quinton van Rooyen for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Quinton van Rooyen moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Quinton van Rooyen, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
