Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Hello Philippe Martin Art! Your additions to Draft:Galerie Philia have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. Philippe Martin, I see that you are active on fr.wp, and appear to be contributing there as a Wikipedia editor – making edits on a wide variety of topics, apparently with the aim of improving the encyclopaedia with each of them. That's the kind of editor we'd like to encourage to participate here too. So – please forgive some plain speaking here – can you explain why in this project you are giving us instead a letter-perfect imitation of the kind of incompetent undisclosed paid editor of which we see so very many every day? I don't have anything to forgive as plain speaking is exactly what I wish here ! The only offense taken is the fact that it's not a paid article and I have no conflict of interest whatsoever in this case ! But it seems complicated to prove as even with the last version, that kept the same frame as the previous version but deleted a big part of the rest for it to be as neutral as possible, it's still not acceptable and nothing is said to help and change that fact. I would be genuinely interested to know what part of it is a problem to modify it after. Articles are made to be edited over time to be improved, to see one deleted with no valid reason, because being accused of something wrong clearly invalidate the previous reason, doesn't help wikipedia at all. Hey @Theroadislong! I've completely edited the wording for it to be neutral, removed around 30% of it for all things not absolutely needed for an article, left only the useful sourced information. Thank you for your work on Galerie Philia. Not all topics are notable (suitable for a stand-alone Wikipedia article). The Galerie Philia article does not cite sources establishing notability, so it may get deleted.

A source shows that the article topic is notable when it:

contains significant coverage: it addresses the topic directly and in detail. A source with only trivial, off-topic mentions of the subject doesn't count
is a reliable source: it has a reliable publication process, or a suitable expert author (look up the reliability of common sources, or discuss)
is independent of the subject: it isn't produced by the article's subject or someone similarly affiliated with it. For example, these are not independent: the subject's press releases, autobiographies, website, and interviews

If you can find notability-establishing sources, please add them: more than one is needed. Wikipedia's notability standards and the subject-specific notability guidelines might be helpful.
