Move closure

I think that this closure was messy (in terms of formatting), premature (with only two !votes and no apparent consensus, very little time for discussion after my oppose only 48 hours before), and your comment suggests that you could be considered involved. Moreover, I think it was the wrong decision for the scientific reason stated; though I realize I might be alone in that perspective, I don't think there was time for proper discussion. I respectfully suggest that you revert your close, allow more time for review, and let's hope someone uninvolved will close. — soupvector (talk) 05:03, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

While I disagree with you about the scientific reasoning for the name change I do respect your thoughts on this.My reasoning for closing the move close was that it had elapsed the specified 7 days and everybody from the talk page (5 people I believe) all said they agreed that the name should change. Unfortunately I do not know how to revert a move closure without also reverting any text changes that have occurred in the mean time as well. — Phillipebrown (talk) 15:48, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

I did not agree, so it was controversial. You supported the move, so you were conflicted. If you don't understand why your close was inappropriate, you should read more about WP move process. Also, regarding the science, since you're studying microbiology you might want to read about the difference between "mediated" and "stimulated". — soupvector (talk) 18:10, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

• I'm going to invite Ian_(Wiki_Ed) to see if he might want to comment, or at least to make him aware of what I think was a messy (technically) and potentially-inappropriate (due to involvement) closure of a move discussion. I don't want to escalate this to a move review, but I do think it's a teachable moment.   I am not arguing with you about the move itself, which is why I said I would revert it. I respect your experience working with Wiki more than me but I do not appreciate the condescending nature of your reply. To be honest the exact wording of the title is less important to me than that it just being changed from the original, which was in my opinion (and others) not a good title. I have put a lot of effort into helping make this article better as it was tagged for more attention, if you would rather call it "Microbial-Stimulated Immunity" I'm not going to argue with you about it, it's fine. — Phillipebrown (talk) 18:39, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

Soupvector is correct in that you shouldn't close a discussion you participated in. It also doesn't work because Microbial-Mediated Immunity violates the rules for page title capitalization. You should either post at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure and ask a third party to close the discussion, or you should wait a while. Right now, with one support and one oppose (other than the nominator) it's likely to be closed as "no consensus". Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:27, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

I moved it back, since everyone seems to agree that it's the right thing to do, and I un-closed the discussion. Since the article is tagged as being on interest to WikiProject Medicine, you might want to leave a note asking for input at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine.
