Frogs Image

Hi Phlip - it looks like it was User:Interested2 that took your picture out on The Frogs, not the other translator. I think it's awesome you made a comic out of this play, but I think a lot of people are going to try to remove your image from the page simply due to the (unjustified) lack of respect that comics get. My personal feeling on the matter is a that we should try to get a piece of art from the time period the play was produced whenever possible, but failing that - use whatever art that best illustrates it. I've scoured the net for a good image for the Frogs several months ago, and came up with no good free ones. So the comic one is fine with me, but like I said - I wouldn't be too suprised if people keep removing it. - Ravenous 20:00, 30 August 2006 (UTC).

If I were using the Wiki to compete (like some other people I could mention), I would point out that the scene where Dionysus accosts a corpse is extra sick from the corpse's point of view.

However, I'm now actually reading a book on the topic (printed on paper! from a library!) and it contradicts a lot of our verbiage on Aristophanes. So I will relax even more about trying to fix things. ;-)

BTW I noticed your intra-wiki email while reading Executive_car. At the time, the page said, "EuroNCAP, a European organization founded to train cheese to become evil", so credit another win to the vandals!

++The only problem with the file is I can't find a button to switch it to copyleft. The automatic reprimanding messages imply I forgot (the second time my browser allowed me near the page) to switch it to "my image, pure copyleft", like I did before. I'm only 46, with a 25 year resume as a computer scientist, so please go easy on me with these user interface details!++

++And now, because someone keeps breaking the "three revert rule", the system accuses me of breaking it. Sheesh - delete once restore once!++

Please read WP:COI and WP:3RR and do not restore your own cartoon which shows you have a conflict of interest to keep in the article. Instead you can engage in intelligent conversation at the article talk to try and persuade other editors why your cartoon can stay in the article. Thank you.
