PC Gamer citations[edit]

I've created the text that you'll need to add a citation, just copy the contents of each box and paste it at the end of the appropriate text. The References section is already there so the rest will be automatic.

Goths and emos[edit]

In the message you left on my improve me page, you claimed I attacked goths and emos, I did not, I merely analysed the situation, it wasn't flattering to htem, but then, if thats the way it is, thats the way it is. I didnt say one derogatory or bad word against them (bar unoriginal, but if you take offence from that you are somewhat touchy) so really, I think you should reviwe your comments. Calling groups of people incapable of original thought and unoriginal counts as an attack in my books, especially when they see that as one of their defining characteristics. It seemed that you waited for the smallest of opportunity to voice your views on two groups of people. You say you analysed a situation, but there was no situation being discussed until you added your comment. It is never the words that offend but the tone and situation they are used in. I believe you are smart enough to know what you were saying and how it would have been interpreted by others, that is why I added my comments to your improvement page. If you genuinely didn't mean to offend you should take this as an opportunity to think more about how your words could be interpreted by others. I'm sure there are many forums on the net where you can discuss your views on goths and emos with others, the wikipedia reference desk isn't the place, especially if they are just looking for a name for a band. --Phydaux 20:49, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Database conversions[edit]

You recently replied to a question of mine at the Reference desk for computing:

In a SQL query you could use: SELECT "[[" & [Field1] & "]] by [[" & [Field2] & "]]" AS Expr1 FROM Table1; and then just export the query results as a text file. (I would assume Microsoft Database has the functionality to create a SQL query.) --Phydaux 14:35, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to find an SQL querying program on my computer to use for my task, but was unable to find something to do so. I had a look at MS Works Database functionality and it doesn't look like it has SQL querys (I assumed it would).

If you are able to copy the data to a spreadsheet program you could use the formula ="[[" & A2 & "]] by [[" & B2 & "]]" in column C. This is assuming that A2 & B2 are the first row of data in the spreadsheet and you would copy the formula down to the last row. Then the formula result's would be the data you were after.

If you have more than 65536 rows of information (The most Excel/Calc can hold) it would be better to use a database program, like Base or Access, which is a bit more long-winded.

Friends Provident entry[edit]

I completely appreciate the need for a complete lack of soap box and for a neutral point of view on Wiki - however upon reading the entry I fail to find any thing that is non-balanced, non-factual or promotional. And upon seeing your IP is linked with a competitor I thought I would get in touch.[reply]

Can you highlight the reasons you flagged this entry as such? I would ask you to rescind the flag or specifically alert me to which sections you see as unsuitable.

However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
