Welcome, Michael Atkinson, etc.

[edit]

Hi. Can I first of all say an official welcome to Wikipedia. I can see from your edit history that you've been around for a while, but I'll just say welcome anyway. I also just wanted to say thanks for the sources on the Michael Atkinson talk page. I'd love to work together with you to put them together into a few paragraphs of well referenced content, and I see you've already started.

I also wanted to just leave a quick note regarding Timeshift. I've only had a little to do with him, but I'm going to be really presumptuous and offer some advice: I reckon it's worth just ignoring it when he makes bad faith remarks. I honestly believe he has the best interests of the project at heart, and I can't see the point in arguing when compromise seems such a difficult thing to achieve.

Anyway, welcome again, and feel free to drop us a line at my talk page any time. Thanks! -- Lear's Fool (talk | contribs) 04:51, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for getting in touch. I'm looking forward to working on the Atkinson article with you and other contributors. I agree about Timeshift- I think he gets so caught up in the guidelines and protocol that it gets in the way of actual content production. I'll heed your advice to ignore bad faith comments from now on though rather than stressing the point. Glad to know that I have some support though. Hope to work with you soon. --PieMachine (talk) 05:28, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Meetup 12 June 2011

[edit]

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that Liam Wyatt is in town, so we were thinking of doing a quick meetup at Brunelli's cafe in Rundle Street (at the Rundle Mall end, near the car park) at 6pm on Sunday, with a possibility of drinks afterwards. So if you're interested we hope to see you there. :) - Bilby (talk) 03:15, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
