If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:PilotRock61/Kiesel Carvin Guitars Signature CC275, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Help me![edit]

I am the artist manager for musician, Craig Chaquico, who asked me to go in and correct errors in, and update, his Wikipedia page. There were many errors on the page, and he dislikes the photo that was put up there from 1974. He asked me to put up a current photo. I did all of this, and it took HOURS of my time to figure out how to do it. All of the corrections were there, but this evening, I went on and the page has returned to its previous state--with all of the errors and the old photo! Please help me return this to the corrected version and help me to maintain this.

Please help me with...

I am the artist manager for musician, Craig Chaquico, and he asked me to go in and make corrections to, and update, his Wikipedia page, which was filled with errors and was outdated. He also asked me to put up a current photo of him. I spent hours and hours figuring out how to do this, and updated it. As of last night, it was corrected; however, I've just gone to the page this evening, and it has been returned to it's previous incarnation---with all of the errors and the old photo!! What happened! Please help me to return the page to the version in which I made corrections and put up the new photo.

Thank you,

The image you uploaded was deleted due to copyright concerns. Likely you did not provide evidence that it has been released by the copyright holder under a free license that allows everybody to re-use and modify the image for any purpose, including commercial purposes. If such evidence is not available online (say a licensing tag on a website where the copyright holder displays the image), you can provide it via email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org.
Your changes to the text of the article were reverted because you did not provide any reliable sources backing up your changes. All Wikipedia content should be backed up by reliable third-party sources such as newspaper or music magazine articles about Chaquico. If our current article contains errors, you're welcome to point them out on the article's talk page. Please be specific.
Please also take a moment to review the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use and make sure you comply with the disclosure requirements. Huon (talk) 02:10, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, PilotRock61. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. People with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, see the conflict of interest guideline and frequently asked questions for organizations. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, its competitors, or projects and products you or they are involved with;
  • instead, propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing, and autobiographies. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 02:18, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:CC - Carvin Guitars.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:CC - Carvin Guitars.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 02:22, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Craig Chaquico Photo[edit]

Hello StormCatcher,

I am in receipt of your note below:

"Hi PilotRock61. First off, please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes. Also, I reverted your changes because you claimed the picture you uploaded was your own work, which it clearly was not. Content that violates any copyrights will be deleted which I have done. Sorry for the inconvenience. The StormCatcher (talk) (contribs) 02:57, 2 December 2015 (UTC)"

I did not mean to imply that I took that particular photo of Craig (though I have taken many and could just as easily put up one of my own), but rather that I, and Craig, have full and total rights to this photo which was given to him/us, and we have used it on his Website and as his FB profile photo for well over a year (only recently replaced it). I have full rights to put this photo up on Craig's Wikipedia page on his behalf. He does not want the old, 1974 image, that was up there, to be used, but wants it to please be replaced with something current as far as his Infobox is concerned.

I have sent the Declaration of Consent in this evening so it should be there for those who require it.

Thank you, PilotRock61 05:10, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
