Unblock requests

Hi, just a note to let you know that on a request like this User talk:Satanic Christian since he gave the name of the original blocked user, you can go to Special:IPblocklist and click the use this tool to find autoblocks link and type in the name of the original blockee to find the autoblock. I did this and cleared it as there was only one autoblock listed. Good luck, pschemp | talk 03:09, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Duel Academy

You asked why I tagged Duel Academy for speedy deletion as a repost. The log shows here that it's been deleted before. The AfD debate is here. Cheers Kevin 08:26, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

User page

Thanks for reverting my user page. From the pattern of edits it's what I thought, Diched (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), 24.118.210.212 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) and probably 160.94.224.179 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) are all the same. Sorry

I apologize, I guess that my edit to Asperger's syndrome was vandalism. It just saddens me that so many people who happen to be introverted claim to be "mentally ill" because the media blows everything out of proportion. 151.197.12.123 14:08, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the help...

But how do I get the image into a .jpeg? I'm sure that would be better than a .gif, since .gifs are usually animated. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ONUnicorn 15:29, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the advice. I got it to work. Take a look! Fork in the road ONUnicorn 15:56, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Big Brother Australia series 6 - Protection

I do not understand why the page has been protected - most of the pages that Ste4k has said are reverts are not reverts, but are edits. One of them is the removal of the table in the article, something that when was originally done I objected to; but a decision was reached on that, so I removed the table as it had no use. All the other edits, as far as I can see, were not reverts, but incorrect revisions that I edited. If I made any reverts, all the changes made in the revisions previous to what is shown in the links would have been changed back. I haven't done anything wrong, but Ste4k believes that everything has to be written in past tense; even information that would be incorrect if it were written in past tense. For example, one edit I believe he made was in reference to a mother-daughter relationship, where his changing the statement to past tense made the relationship sound as though it was no longer true. I hope you can see what I'm trying to say here, and see what I mean. --JDtalkemail 15:48, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

I am not the cause of the problems, and I am not trying to fight with other Wikipedians, but if something's wrong I'm going to correct it. I don't have a problem with the fact that I may not always agree with somebody's edit, or vice versa. I tried to discuss it on the talk page, but Ste4k still believes everything should be written in past tense. If you really think the page needs to be protected, I'm not going to argue that, but I wanted you to know exactly how it is from my point of view. --JDtalkemail 18:16, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for unblocking me, one thing though: I merely wanted to be unblocked, being unbloked is not a path I want to wander about haha. Thanks again - Maajid 16:38, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Congrats!

I was wondering how long it would take until somebody nominated you for adminship. Congratulations! 69.145.123.171 Hello! Thursday, June 22, 2006, 01:18 (UTC)

restoring edits by vandal + blocking the person reverting them

thanks, it's so nice that you really don't even need to look at a contribution before reverting it and blocking the reverter of vandalism--64.12.116.12 03:11, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Second opinion on new article

Hey there - congrats on the adminship! Now I'm putting you to work. =) I'd appreciate a second opinion on Move.com - it smells like a lot of advertising to me, but I'm not entirely sure. I figure asking someone with experience is a better idea than engaging the author, who's removed a range of different tags thus far. He has, however, asked on the talk page if the advertising part could be identified and adjusted. Problem: it *all* reads like advertising to me. Could you take a quick peek and maybe weigh in? Thanks! Tony Fox (speak) 02:07, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Now that I've looked over the article and its creator's other work, I'm starting to think this guy's done a lot of advertising work, but again, I'm wary - one of his other articles, someone's suggested it's not actually that much advertising. It just looks odd all around to me. Thanks for the help. Tony Fox (speak) 05:19, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Changes have been reverted

I didn't make any changes recently or, well, ever under this IP.. so what changes?

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Three card month mess

We seem to have stepped on each other moving Talk:Three-card Monte. Do you want to fix it, or should I? -- RoySmith (talk) 16:42, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Sigh, someday WP:BPP will be fixed. In any case, there should not be any autoblocks to clear when an IP address is blocked. Just unblock the IP address and you should be fine. Thanks for the heads up. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 18:17, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Westnet Proxy block

Collateral damage!

Just wanted to thankyou for removing the block. Any idea why the wiki doesnt use the X forwarded for header to grab peoples real IP address rather than the proxy address, as this may allievate some issues with other ISP's (AOL perhaps, I'm not sure of how their system works) - Shaddowofadream 11:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism

Hello, Pilotguy. I noticed that you are patrolling the administrator intervention page. Why has no one responded to my block request, while several IPs have already been taken care of since I posted? Thanks, DLandTALK 17:55, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Mechanismtongs

Hi. Given that you blocked User:Mechanismtongs, could I ask you also to look at User:Major18 who appears to me to be a clear sockpuppet? Cheers --Pak21 22:21, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Number of the Beast

Hi! We chatted yesterday regarding the article Number of the Beast. The anonymous editor who added that link is still there and used one IP, from Telecom Egypt’s IP range, in short intervals, often enough for me to leave a ‘final’ warning. Then the editor made a break of ca. ten minutes and returned, with an IP from Brasil Telecom. This looks like proxy use to me, and I think sprotection would be an effective measure with minimal undue restriction. (It would still leave Number of the Beast (numerology) and possibly other related articles unprotected, though, and I will not put those on my watchlist—one is enough.) —xyzzyn 18:28, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Thank you! —xyzzyn 18:41, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Seems I was pipped to the post when patrolling the recent changes. Saw you a couple of times in the history. Is it a frequent location of you or just coincidence?

The page itself needs some work though, it must be one of WP's longer pages? If you are a regular have you any thoughts? Thanks Philipwhiuk 15:22, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

that was very helpful, saved a lot of trouble. One thing though i can see the user adding the pages again, if he does that i will just add it here so you can take what ever action you should take. --Childzy talk contribs 20:52, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

userboxes

Thanks for all your help with my user page, but what I wanted was all my userboxes not in a line, just the section titles in their own line (like in a normal wiki article). My fault, I can't really explain myself right :-\ My userboxes don't behave right either, no matter what. --DeKalb 21:41, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Your vandalism page!

The vandalism page is a really great idea! If it was your creation, would you mind if i used it on my user page? If not thats ok, but a fantastic concept. -- David 00:14, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Please do not revert the removal of that content on Tata Consultancy Services - you reverted an anon who removed a lot of content, but this is the content that I have been fighting myself. It is self-admitted original research, it is not neutral (for example accusing them of "slave labour"), it is not verified and the users who keep re-inserting it have never even attempted to discuss this - they simply accuse me of being bribed by the company (of which I know absolutely nothing about). And I will try to get the page semi-protected or something to stop this being re-inserted.--Konstable 01:56, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Can you please close this discussion? It looks like you deleted the page in question at almost the same time I posted the afd discussion. Thank you! --NMChico24 03:25, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

OS 0 1 2

I wish to protest the deletion of the OS 0 1 2 page on the basis of the previous deletion last year. I can assure you this was in error and demand a fair hearing. the previous year's removal discussion also requested a rewrite and none was provided and thus a fair hearing must be had on this year's page. The page met the standard requested by wikipedia and I can argue for it. I am shocked that this was allowed to happen without much discussion.

I have begun a review here: thanks for your help Pilot Guy

  • CommentPilot Guy, I am awaiting some sort of response to your speedy deletion with a hearing action. Will you be able to attend the hearing in a timely manner?

OS 0 1 2 on deletion review

Elonka's comments

As I read it, the comment was about emotional maturity, not age. The "no" incident is a perfect example - Werdna threatens blocking for Dunc's failure to explain his vote adequately. It becomes even more clear in his final explanation of his actions, where he talks about how hurtful oppose votes are. Quite frankly, the inability to take criticism with good grace shows a lack of emotional maturity. The fact that criticism (not even of him, but of his nominee) causes him to fly off the handle the way he did at Dunc says volumes.

Now, regarding age - it isn't surprising if a 15-year-old lacks the emotional maturity to keep a cool head and not jump into fights. A lot of people will look at his age and see an explanation for their conclusion (that he lacks emotional maturity). Maybe it isn't fair, but it's a reasonable generalisation. Fifteen-year-olds tend to lack emotional maturity. Of course, not all do lack the emotional maturity to function as an admin. In addition, many 30-year-olds also lack that emotional maturity. But most people (at least most people this side of 60) are unlikely to see age as confirming their conclusions in the case of a 30-year-old. Guettarda 16:04, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

According to the block log you blocked this IP for 66 hours, however, it was alreadly blocked for [24 hours] by another admin. I'm just letting you know this. Yanksox 03:36, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Of course, I must sound a little annoying. :P Yanksox 03:37, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
The only reason I ask is that, from what I know, the shorter block is the one that stays. So wouldn't you have to unblock to extend the block? You can ignore this as I am a little crazed. :) Yanksox 03:42, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Nvm, I need sleep. I guess, I am trying to say that your block is nullified by the shorter one, since the shorter block is the standing one. Well, I can't unblock and reblock since I'm not a SysOp. Thanks for the mistake though, :) Yanksox 03:51, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

This is a requested block for this user, the I.P continues to blank a note on {{The Open Door]] article even though he/she has been warned about 3 times, there is also a in the page saying not to remove and a message on the talk page. see;

He/she has also been adding spam links. the reason most of the warning are given by me is that not many other users seem to bother about warning vandals. Anyway the I.P needs blocking to show that we are serious. --Childzy talk contribs 07:58, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

I saw that you blocked this user indefinately as a "vandal-only account." However, I am somewhat confused as to why you feel that this person is beyond reform even at his/her first block. I would appreciate it if you could explain this to me. Thanks! -- Where 18:58, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Problems with User:Major18

Hi, I don’t know if you remember but about a week ago i was having a few problems with Major18, and as you can perhaps tell from my talk page things aren’t going too well. He’s also accused me of vandalism on a number of talk pages (which I didn’t commit I have no idea how who did). He's clearly got something against me but I just don't know why? What do u recommend I do? --David 15:52, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Adding unsourced Content

Please include appropriate citations per WP:V and Wikipedia:Reliable_sources#Using_online_and_self-published_sources. Repeatedly inserting unsourced content per these guidelines may be seen by some editors as vandalism.--Crossmr 18:13, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

WP:V is a non-negotiable policy. Removing unsourced content from an article and asking people to ensure the use proper citations isn't a personal attack. --Crossmr 18:21, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
