Request reason:

please unblock this username, it's part of a IP address block where we incorrectly tried to suggest edits to our company wikipedia page via an incorrect username (lmaxmarketing) i understand i must suggest edits as an individual and declare my interest aka i'm an employee of the company and i'm looking to make a couple of small factual edits to our companies wiki page. I have declared my status as an employee on this pippawiskin page

I've blocked this account directly as a meat puppet of the blocked account. The operator of the original account will need to request unblock on their account. 331dot (talk) 17:45, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your company does not have a Wikipedia "page"; Wikipedia has an article about your company. No company employee should edit it directly, but they may propose edits on the article talk page in the form of an edit request. You and no one else at your company should attempt to create their own accounts to edit about your company until this is resolved. 331dot (talk) 17:45, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I created this as a new account that fits the user guidelines. This is also blocked as it shares an IP address with my previously incorrect username 'lmaxmarketing', so i'm blocked across both. I'm trying to suggest a couple of factual changes for review on the wikipedia page about LMAX Group (A company I work for, as stated on this page originally) e.g. number of employees at LMAX Group, as well as the published 2020 revenue figures and the 30% acquisition of the company (all with references), but I seem to be unable to speak to anyone due to the ip address block. I'd really appreciate if someone could help me. Thank you

You will not be unblocked to edit the company article. If that is your only goal, then this is the end of the line. If you want to edit in areas unrelated to your conflict of interest, then in your next unblock request, tell us what they are. PhilKnight (talk) 05:25, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Phil, Thank you so much for getting back to me. Please could you let me know how this article could be updated to provide wikipedia users more up to date and factual information about the company? I know I can't edit the page myself due to a conflict of interest, but I wanted to suggest the edits (which are all factual and can be referenced) to a wikipedia editor. Is there a better way to do this? It's not promotional information and is all available in the press eg a $1billion valuation and PE investment, employee numbers and 2020 revenue. Currently this information is not reflected on the page and it's providing incorrect information. Thank you Pippawiskin (talk) 08:38, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You should provide up to date information on your company website and social media. Wikipedia, while striving to be accurate, is meant to have a more historical outlook, and is often behind the curve as information is updated. Suggesting edits is the correct thing to do, but we won't unblock you to just suggest edits. We want to see edits in other areas which will demonstrate your understanding of content guidelines and sourcing, otherwise letting you suggest edits just wastes your time and the time of volunteers that review them. As noted, if you have no interest in being a general contributor, this is the end of the road. 331dot (talk) 10:57, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
