Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Saw (franchise), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 09:46, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've just provided an explanation, it's for less clutter in the info box, general cleanup. Everything has been fixed. Thank you. Plainfield95 (talk) 09:50, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Hi! Do you know where the Saw $1 billion retail sales figure is mentioned? Timur9008 (talk) 09:27, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Yes, I'm currently planning a complete overhaul of the Saw page, as the article's main problem is that it's not updated, and a lot of the figures and things stated in the article are from years ago, some even more than a decade ago. I've overhauled the lead to make it more accurate and I've added more of the media as a lot was lacking. I'm planning on the doing the reception part of the article this week, so all the references will be added then. Thanks for the concern. Plainfield95 (talk) 15:55, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you explain this edit [1]? The Box Office Mojo source doesn't mention the DVD & Blu-ray Sales number unless I'm missing something. The Numbers source only said that number is 226 million. Timur9008 (talk) 16:46, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, total retail sales are mentioned later in this article[1] Plainfield95 (talk) 16:47, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"likely" hit closer to $2.5 billion after accounting for home-entertainment sales. The number has to be specific. I'm not sure we can use this. Timur9008 (talk) 16:55, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

I'm completely confused as to why I've been banned for my IP address? I recently just moved to a new apartment complex, so apparantely someone in the past in this range has been blocked I guess? This previous account isn't mine. None of my behavior or edits have been disruptive or anything of the sort. How do I proceed with this?

Decline reason:

Basically a complete overlap in your edits between this account and Acekard. When combined with the technical evidence already collected, there's no way this is a coincidence. Yamla (talk) 10:24, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
