- Thanks! Mine do to (Johnston, Trigg, Floyd, Campbell) Would love any feedback-- was thinking it would make a good list since Washington County was so unusual with all the high office holders it produced. I think I'm going to redo the house of delegates as a table showing the dates of session so it's easier to see who succeeded whom, etc...plange 19:30, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- A table would certainly make things a bit easier. As per the to do list, I'll see what I can contribute. I'll be on a road trip for at least a week (two if I can make it to Abingdon), and hopefully after that I can really set to work. I've got a history of Washington Co., as well as two of Virginia, that I'll dig out and see what they'll offer me for information.~ (The Rebel At) ~ 15:27, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm so jealous, you're going to Abingdon! That's where my family is from! My last name is Trigg... Which to-do list are you referring to? If it's the one on my page where you get to this list from, that's just my sandbox and I think this list is the only Washington Co. item on there. However, I do see this list as a to-do list that I'd like to tackle. By the way, how did you find me and this list? plange 15:33, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Mea culpa! For some reason when you listed your ancestor's names, I translated that into a to do list. The majority of my Washington County people came from an area near Damascus called "Widener's Valley" (though, the road that goes through it is labelled Widener Valley). Wideners make up the majority of my stock, but just about most of the local names there, Rosenbaum, Debusk, etc. However, my great-aunt, who I hope to visit in a couple weeks, is a Johnston. So perhaps we're related through marriage. As for finding you, for the life of me I can't remember what page it was, but I just clicked on your user name (something I'm apt to do when I'm bored and not sure of what projects to work on, so I read User pages). So by coincidence, I discovered your interest in Washington County (by following your To Do list). As for Abingdon, I've only been there a few times, the last visit of any duration was unfortunately for my grandfather's funeral about six years ago. I was there for about two hours earlier this summer just to drop in and visit my great-aunt, so I'm as excited about heading back as you appear to be!~ (The Rebel At) ~ 12:31, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
