Dishonest deletions[edit]

Would like it if you purposely didn't delete data and replace it with less than trustworthy sources. FIREYSUNSET (talk) 08:13, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you are only focused on white-on-Asian violence, the page is at Anti-Asian racism in the United States or perhaps Anti-Chinese sentiment in the United States, which primarily focuses on historical, actually violent activities perpetuated against individuals of Asian ancestry. Many of these violent individuals/groups were members of "respected" organizations like labor unions (Sweetwater County, 1885), the Turner Society (Tacoma/Seattle, 1885), the political upper crust of San Francisco (many incidents on and off the 1800s-1900s). You should do more research there as opposed to some biased language of so-called "solidarity".
Until then, I believe your account is very new, and not to be trusted on topics like this. FIREYSUNSET (talk) 08:20, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It also appears to me that you seem to clearly lack an understanding of what the term hate crime can entail. This covers both violent crimes and nonviolent crimes. The former in an anti-Asian context often has disproportionately more black perpetrators, and the latter more white perpetrators. If you sum them together, it tends to be predominately white, as nonviolent crimes (racist graffiti and harassment) is greater than violent crimes (shoving at a subway station, beatings). Thanks for your feedback. I actually replaced a false Bureau of Labor statistic that was cited prior and discussed in the forum beforehand as a problematic statistic that perpetuated anti-Blackness. It’s fair if you don’t want to believe the statistic I cited, but it is backed up by multiple University-led initiatives. Personally, I feel it is irresponsible to leave the page as it is For now without proper citations, because I have failed to find a study where you can that Black Americans are the perpetrators of a combination of violent and nonviolent crimes. In any case, I feel I simply expanded on the COVID-19 related hate that was happening in the United States with trustworthy statistics, and also saw that past edits were being taken down to support faulty statistics and opinions. I might be new to Wikipedia, but I think I deserve a chance to add information without being discredited by your un-cited statements. 2601:400:C002:B4B0:3191:90DC:55F:D2DD (talk) 16:08, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Either way, I removed the original statistic as well as yours, given that neither one tells the full story regarding the picture. Collapsing all hate crimes into the same category is slightly irresponsible IMO given that some are just uncomfortable and angering while others can cause you to lose your life.
