A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Plussimple/+Simple, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. November 2018[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:14, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am an independent translator working freely and who wishes to translate contents on Wikipedia

Decline reason:

You have not selected a new username as instructed in your block notice. Your username cannot be that of a business per the username policy, it must indicate an individual is using this account(it need not be your real name). You have not addressed your violations of WP:PROMO, WP:COI, and WP:PAID. You will need to better describe your connection to the business you wrote about(and used their name as your username). I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:09, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The name of the company I am translated this content for is +Simple so the username I used is PlusSimple. Should I change and use my name instead?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Plussimple (talkcontribs)

I've formatted your comment as a standard comment; only unblock requests need the unblock request formatting. You need to follow the instructions in your block notice to request a new username; it doesn't need to be your real name, just something to indicate an individual is using this account. In that request, you will also need to address your policy violations and tell what you will edit about going forward. 331dot (talk) 10:31, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand why I have been blocked and I am now aware of the purpose of Wikipedia and I will not use Wikipedia as advertising or promotion for any businesses. I intend to translate content only to make information available to people worldwide.

Decline reason:

You have not answered the questions 331dot asked, above. You need to specifically describe your connection to the business you wrote about. You also need to convince us you have read, understood, and will comply with WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO. Additionally, when translating content, how exactly will you deal with copyright issues? Yamla (talk) 12:18, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have renamed your account from Plussimple to Scourtier, and someone else will review your request. You will be expected to review and comply with WP:COI and WP:PAID, and will likely need to agree to not edit about your clients and tell what topics you will edit about instead. 331dot (talk) 10:44, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am an independent translator who wishes to translate contents regarding French startups. I am not being paid to do any translation work on Wikipedia, I do it in order to make information available to people across the world. Regarding +Simple, I am indeed translating this page because a friend of mine who works in the company asked me if I could help them with that. I do not work within the company. I do understand there has been a conflict of interest because I was asked to translate this content. Regarding copyright every content translated will not be copied from another content. My purpose is not to promote a business. I have read, understood and I comply with WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO. Thank you for your assistance.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficiently convincing for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 12:23, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Translating content does not free you of copyright concerns. Nor have you addressed how you would deal with your conflicts of interest. --Yamla (talk) 12:27, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I also note that you claim to have created this image: File:Logo-plus-simple.png. Was that a lie? --Yamla (talk) 12:44, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There's a "growth hacker" working at plussimple with the last name, Courtier. Given your username, what exactly is your relationship to that person? --Yamla (talk) 12:53, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand your process of verification. I have done what you've asked me. I have explained multiple times what I am doing on Wikipedia. About the conflict of interest, forget it I won't be trying to translate any content on Wikipedia. It has nothing to do with the growth hacker but I can change again my username if you want me to. Regarding the file, I have been authorized by +Simple to use the image that they created but I will modify the description to be more specific.

I'm sorry, but I still feel the need to inquire further. Authorized? To what end? Verification? What verification? And the issue is less your user name than the appearance that you are editing on behalf of an outside entity. As you will not be translating more articles into Wikipedia, please tell us what constructive edits you would make. Not sure about the use of logo's on Wikipedia. (not my forte) If it is the intellectual property of Simple and you claim to be the creator/owner of said property, we have questions. And if you are authorized by Simple, then there is again the question of a conflict of interest. And being an independent translator does not mean WP:PAID does not apply..-- Dlohcierekim (talk) 20:20, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
