Lists of countries

I think that this is a useful Initiative. I suggest that you look through the lists at Lists of countries and see if there are any other features that would help to reduce the lists that exist because the could become redirects to this one.

You might consider placing the initial list is a slightly different order than alphabetic. For example the four constituent countries of the UK could be placed directly under the UK, only if the list is sorted would England then be in its alphabetical position in the list.

A Date of admission to the UN would incorporate most of the information in the United Nations member states list.

I think this would have a place on Wikipedia under its own title - 'List of world territories' perhaps? I think it should include everything on every available nation-related list, including the forthcoming List of nations. If it offered on a 'List of countries' disam page, it will be useful and certainly get plenty of hits. --Matt Lewis (talk) 15:06, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
