In response to User talk:Ryokosha[edit]

You are referring to the trivia from there or something else? If you mean lists of roles then I think that falls under common knowledge. All of that is out there, perhaps scattered in seventy places or more but it is all out there anyway so it is not something that is considered sole domain of their site. I feel that so long as they are cited as a resource and so long as none of them complain then why worry? If and only if they complain do I think there is a need to worry about this, but if they do then I think most of what is in this encyclopedia in any article from any person has to be taken down since I think a lot of it comes from sites most don't put as a resource, I credit them as a resource, if I continually didn't and tried to claim all the information I ever posted was mine and mine alone then I see a problem, crediting them as a resource I don't see a problem. It's like copying something in a school paper then citing them as where you copied it from to show you copied it, in my opinion perfectly legit. Besides how do you think most printed encyclopedias get all the information they do? They just happen to staff one expert in every field on the face of the earth that just happens to know everything about that field, they too do what is being done here, get the information from another source and cite it as a resource. Do you not agree to any of this? Ryokosha 05:54, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem and sorry for posting here too, just wasn't sure where to post to make sure it read as you were getting it. Ryokosha 06:07, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ref converter[edit]

Wow, I didn't even know there was such a thing as {{rn}}. Anyway, I updated the ref converter to handle them as well. --Cyde Weys 07:40, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was unexpectedly fast. Sure beats manually converting then running your converter. Much obliged! PoptartKing 07:47, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if you follow the "edit page" link after you've put in a page title and hit "go" it takes you back to the edit box on Wikipedia and automatically fills in a good edit summary. It's more efficient this way; try it! --Cyde Weys 07:58, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

<language> icon templates[edit]

Hi there, I think what you have done with the <language> icon metatemplates is a bad idea. Has there been a discussion before such drastic change? If so, could you please point me to it? Thanks. PizzaMargherita 18:54, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would put it a bit more strongly. Please, revert *all* your changes. It is common data processing knowledge, popularized by Donald Knuth, that "premature optimization is the root of all evils". Please don't get involved into technical issues if you are not knowledgeable about them, as that will waste everyone's time, including yours. —Gennaro Prota•Talk 19:16, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Reverting;thanks for pointing that out. PoptartKing 12:07, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

Well done on putting the assessment thing on the Classical Greece and Rome WikiProject. It looks excellent, and when I looked at it earlier I couldn't quite get my head around it. I hope we've managed to kick start the WikiProject a bit more now. It would be really good if we could have one of those tables for our own project to put on the main page so we can see how many articles are labelled A or B or Start etc. Is this possible? Pjmc 18:43, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Today's certainly been more active than any other. With regard to the question, as soon as we contact them or they contact us (I have no idea how that project's processes go about), a bot will start keeping tabs on all the statistics and we will indeed have a neat statistics box. It'd probably be wise to first start with the tagging though. PoptartKing 19:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Whitney houston-i learned from the best s.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Whitney houston-i learned from the best s.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:32, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mariamaria santana singlecover.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Mariamaria santana singlecover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:30, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Whitney houston-i learned from the best s.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Whitney houston-i learned from the best s.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:37, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
