Removed info.

[edit]

Hello, I see that you have removed the information about percentage of Serbs of Croatia within the ranks of Yugoslav Partisans in Croatia in 1944 here [1] Would you care to restore it? Also, please read WP:SYNTH Sadkσ (talk is cheap) 20:31, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I am meaning to put back percentages. Was working on the section. PortalTwo (talk) 20:32, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Glina, Croatia, you may be blocked from editing. Amanuensis Balkanicus (talk) 21:26, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Insulating me won’t get you far. How is it moral to give me this warning when you are one of the parties involved in the disagreement? I provide sound reasons in my edits. You keep removing RS material because it is not within your purview. PortalTwo (talk) 21:31, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Glina

[edit]

Before that, it was a part of Socialist Republic of Croatia, which is not the same as modern-day Cro. It is incorrect, if you think about it. [2] Sadkσ (talk is cheap) 21:41, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Modern Croatia is a successor to SRC so same borders. It was reintegrated. Not it’s own state. SR Croatia declared independence. PortalTwo (talk) 21:46, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In fact sources claim that it was land to be reintegrated: https://books.google.com/books?id=QfK3q9vSeOMC&pg=PA119&dq=reintegration+serbian+krajina&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjA15zRkIzpAhUiYTUKHZ6BB2AQ6AEIJTAA#v=onepage&q=reintegration%20serbian%20krajina&f=false

For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. The very part you restored blindly is still in the article but rephrased to avoid WP:CLOP, SYNTH and other issues. Refrain from introducing these issues and do not edit war duplicate and inaccurate information already fixed to parse the sources accurately. As far as Karadjic take it to talk, Dr. K. 15:40, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did not add any copyright material. I didn’t even include new sources... Also it was my first edit to the page. So not sure how I was “edit warring”. I’m a bit confused of your hostility towards me as it is my first edit on the page. I wasn’t restoring “blindly” as I genuinely didn’t see it. I did not see that a different version of the information was presented given how differently worded it was from the source. PortalTwo (talk) 16:06, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You added old material that I had fixed so as to avoid close paraphrasing and to parse the source better. Please see the history of the article from yesterday where I explained all my edits. There was close paraphrasing, SYNTH and other POV which I removed. In any case, you seem to be a good faith editor and I appreciate your understanding. Best regards. Dr. K. 16:30, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries then. I see now there was a lot of back and forth on the article and talk page of the article. For future reference when I edit based on sources, if the source is written in a pov matter, does that get carried over or is it alright for us to modify it? I worry I would get accused of misrepresentation of the source. Any tips for how to do so? Would be appreciated as I am still learning. Thanks. PortalTwo (talk) 16:47, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If the source is POV, we may attribute it by name and say "according to that source etc." but we should not change its intended meaning, other than to change words to avoid CLOP. Dr. K. 16:56, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I see. So words that may come across strong can be modified as long as the overall context or message of the sentence is preserved. Thanks!PortalTwo (talk) 17:04, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Precisely, and you are very welcome. All the best. Dr. K. 17:12, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please note these special rules for editing Eastern Europe and the Balkans

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.--Dr. K. 15:47, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. creffett (talk) 16:05, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes when I was making an edit I had not realized i was logged in. Also by my edits you can see it was accidental and I make sure to never intentionally edit same time with my account and with IP. I also make sure if on a talk page, I am represented as one identity as my edits show. Thanks. PortalTwo (talk) 16:16, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
