Please do not remove speedy tags[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles, as you did with Gnome-screenshot. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. --NMChico24 09:34, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

KDE[edit]

Just a really quick little thing: you're not supposed to say "KDE desktop environment" because KDE stands for "K Desktop Environment." I've noticed some cases where you mention "the KDE desktop environment." I've changed them to "...KDE, the K Desktop Environment..." That's all #Peteturtle 16:37, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thx for reminding me this one. Praka123 11:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Debian/Sid screenshot[edit]

I do not really get what an "Operating System screenshot" is useful for but English wikipedia likes them so much, it is ok. However, your desktop differs a lot from a default installation. Also, Sid is never going to be released. The last release is Etch. Lenny is coming soon, but they actually look the same. --190.66.166.145 21:16, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:DebianSidpraka.png listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:DebianSidpraka.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. I have nominated Linux For You, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Linux For You. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Ahunt (talk) 18:27, 27 May 2010 (UTC) [reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Vannappuram, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Vannapuram. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 15:46, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

February 2012[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Vannapuram a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. — madman 00:56, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
