March 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Sarson ka saag because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 05:38, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Dal dhokli. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 07:11, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from using talk pages such as Talk:Dal dhokli for general discussion of this or other topics. They are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways, based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines; they are not for use as a forum or chat room. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. See the talk page guidelines for more information. Thank you. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 07:12, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to use talk pages for inappropriate discussion, as you did at Talk:Dhokla, you may be blocked from editing. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 07:12, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear PrakashS80, please don't add recipes to Wikipedia articles. Wikipedia is not a cookbook. Thank you and regards, Guffydrawers (talk) 08:41, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear PrakashS80, please do not be discouraged by the messages above. There are many rules regarding what can and cannot appear in Wikipedia articles, which can make it difficult for new contributors. There are several people who police the rules, but they do not mean to be harsh or negative, they just want to ensure that the quality of Wikipedia articles is high and consistent. Your contributions are welcome, but we ask that you learn from messages such as the above and read the blue links in them, which describe which Wikipedia rule applies. Perhaps some of the above editors overlooked the principle of being polite and kind to newcomers. Kind regards Guffydrawers (talk) 11:03, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
