Addition of external links

Hi PreventionSource, thank you for taking the time to edit Wikipedia, we're always glad to see new volunteers. Since you're fairly new you probably aren't aware of some of our policy and guidelines on linking. I mention this only because almost all your edits so far have been to add external links to related domains. Have you considered trying to build up the content of our articles instead? New or improved content using varied and reliable sources is much more beneficial to the project than external links to other websites. Hi PreventionSource - You seem to have continued adding links to inappropriate articles - please stop. Our external links sections are for a small number of high quality, highly relevent links, they are not supposed to be general directories of related organizations and resources. And it is really inappropriate to put external links to an organization's homepage in the external links section of articles relating to a different association as you did here.

Also, you just created an article on American Association for Couples and Family Therapy - I can find no real evidence this organization actually eists in any serious way and most of the links on the website the article lists are dead. Do you know of any reliable sources that show the organization could be considered significant? Thanks. -- SiobhanHansa 22:57, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi again. I've proposed the American Association of Couples and Family Therapy article for deletion since I have still been unable to find any significant reference to the organization and no one else has added any. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, since you are the only major contributor to the article, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page.

I also notice a lot of the http://www.delinquencyprevention.org links have been added back by IP ddresses whose only edits are to promote the link and whom I assume are you. This is pretty much our definition of spamming. Please read the guidelines I linked to above - we ask editors not to add links to sites they are connected to. If you believe these links are useful please suggest them on the talk pages of the articles you think they should be added to and let unconnected editors decide if they are appropriate. Your expertise in actually building our GFDL encyclopedic content is welcome, but simply using Wikipedia to promote your websites, however much of an expert you are, is not appropriate. American Association of Couples and Family Therapy

Hi again. Since you removed the proposed deletion notice but did not address the concerns I raised, I have started an articles for deletion discussion to see if community consensus is to keep or delete the article.
