Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, PrimeHealthEditor, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Prime Healthcare Services‎, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 20:29, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Inquiry

[edit]

@C.Fred:

Hi Fred,

Thank you for your response. In the link you sent, it says “you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it.” Are you able to review the page and provide comments to help it being published?

Our hope was to submit a straightforward listing of the hospitals in the Prime Healthcare system along with a map of where they are. All of the information is verifiable by third-party sources. Other than the opening sentence, we made no other edits to the content of the page. I'll be sure to use a personal account for future edits.

Please let me know how best to proceed. Thanks in advance for your help. PrimeHealthEditor (talk) 21:48, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest? Information you need to know

[edit]

Conflict of interest (COI) editing involves contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. Any external relationship can trigger a conflict of interest. That someone has a conflict of interest is a description of a situation, not a judgement about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith.

COI editing is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. It undermines public confidence and risks causing public embarrassment to the individuals and companies being promoted. Editors with a COI are sometimes unaware of whether or how much it has influenced their editing. If COI editing causes disruption, an administrator may opt to place blocks on the involved accounts.

Editors with a COI, including paid editors, are expected to disclose it whenever they seek to change an affected article's content. Anyone editing for pay must disclose who is paying them, who the client is, and any other relevant affiliation; this is a requirement of the Wikimedia Foundation. COI editors are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly, and can propose changes on article talk pages instead. However, our policy on matters relating to living people allows very obvious errors to be fixed quickly, including by the subject.

Please review Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Given your username, I assume you do have a conflict of interest. If not, please explain the username. If you do have a conflict of interest, please follow the rules in Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for all planned editing you do on Wikipedia. Rsjaffe (talk) 22:27, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Longhair\talk 04:10, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Username Change and Appeal

Request reason:

M is the first letter in my name and I enjoy music which is why I put beats

Decline reason:

Your username was only one small part of the problem here. You need to address your promotional edits. Yamla (talk) 18:25, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Thank you for allowing the restoration of some of the page’s previous content. Please help me understand the parameters for submitting content that you have classified as promotional. There are other hospital systems on Wikipedia that seem to have been allowed to place content very similar to Prime's on their respective pages (e.g., https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dignity_Health and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Providence_Health_%26_Services). At this stage, I'm trying to submit a list of hospitals and a map, like the examples I've provided. How can I work with you to submit content that will pass your review? Thanks. MBeatzM (talk) 22:48, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As an editor with a conflict of interest with the topic you're editing, you will be required to request edits to such articles via the article talk pages. Another editor will review your requested edits and then make a decision as to whether the edits will improve the article. Editors with a conflict of interest are often unable to edit the articles they're involved in with a neutral point of view. You'll need to resubmit another request for unblocking if you wish to continue editing. -- Longhair\talk 22:56, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As a side note, I added a list of hospitals to the page some time ago. It was deleted by other editors for several reasons, and I've come to agree with their decision. I've now included a link in "External Links" to the Prime Healthcare page listing the hospitals. That seems the best solution, as it guarantees up-to-date information. The Prime Healthcare page linked to includes a map as well. Rsjaffe (talk) 23:33, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
