Suspected COI

Hello, I was wondering if you could check up on this user Wiki power creator . They seems to have a Conflict of Interest with a certain OllysTV. I had message them on their talk page, but I didn't get a reply. Best, Reading BeansTalk to the Beans 14:29, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for the notification @Reading Beans, something is definitely up with them. They've created a promotional draft on a non-notable company and another one on the company's CEO. I would've said open a case at WP:COIN but they're a new user and they probably do not know better. Let's hope they respond to the templates. Princess of Ara 20:15, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Article on Peter Ewesor

Thank you princess of Ara for the concise and stimulating review of my article on Peter Ewesor. Before now, I must say that I really do not have ideas about the formation of articles on Wikipedia, the draft article on Peter Ewesor is my first work and after studying your review, I trust I now have a better grip on what Wikipedia entails. I have done the corrections as advised in your review. There is no COI, my attention to writing an article on Peter Ewesor developed when I did a Wikipedia search on him, and I could not find any page relatively. In the Nigeria Power sector, there are so many events that evolve around Engineer Peter. Ewesor especially the unbundling of PHCN (Power Holding Company of Nigeria) and formation of NEMSA (Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency), all motivated my interest to have him documented on Wikipedia. I claimed ownership of his image in my infobox because I took the photo with permission from him during an engineering gathering where I met him in Abuja with the aid of a professional photographer. Teswaren (talk) 08:55, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

@Teswaren, Thank you for dropping me a note. How then did you get his date and place of birth if you're not close to him? Kindly point me to the reliable source that discusses his place and date of birth. Regards.
Princess of Ara 11:02, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
Greetings Princess of Ara,
I got information on Peter Ewesor's origin from one of his books (About Author, "Practical Electrical Systems Installation, Work and Practice" Second Edition, ISBN 978-978-904-915-8) and from deposited reports in NSE (Nigeria Society of Engineers) secretariate.Teswaren (talk) 13:57, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
Hello @Teswaren, primary sources should not be used to validate such information. Another reviewer will take a look at your draft in order to assess it for notability. Regards,

Ollys TV

Hello Sarah, I saw that you declined my company page but I’m not sure exactly why it wasn’t acceptable? Can you please elaborate so I can know what to work on

Regards, Olly Wiki power creator (talk) 20:18, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Hello Olly, thank you for dropping by. If you read the decline template carefully, you'll see that it says that the references used in the article do not demonstrate that the company has recieved significant coverage in multiple reliable sources which are indipendent of the company meaning that the company does not meet the notability guideline for companies and cannot be included in the encyclopedia.

Another concern I have is that you have a close relationship with the company or were paid by the company but you have not disclosed this relationship. This is requred per the Wikipedia Terms of Use. Reading Beans already asked you about this at your talk page but you ignored their query. Regards,
Princess of Ara 20:46, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
Thank you Sarah, you are so good… currently working on it so we can have it accepted the 2nd submission. Wiki power creator (talk) 02:10, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
You still haven't responded to the query about a conflict of interest with the subject of your draft. A yes/no will be good. Princess of Ara 06:27, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Can we make this easy in chatting on WhatsApp or call if that's okay with you, Your number? Princejoel44 (talk) 00:27, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

No, we cannot. My talk page is fine for any wiki-related queries. Cheers

Nigerian women categories

Hi Princess! I added one category to the stub discussion to help you, but I will leave another here for you: Category:Nigerian women by occupation. Hopefully, this additionally helps you with specific biographies about notable Nigerian women. Good luck! Wyliepedia @ 08:35, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Thank you so much @CAWylie, this has been really helpful! I'll just trawl through to find the stubs for improvement! Princess of Ara 08:45, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Quick note

Hi. Just to let you know in case you don't see it, I just removed the content that was cited by the deprecated source that you removed from the Sarah Baartman article. No point in leaving it there looking as if it is supported by the next citation! Best wishes. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 12:28, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Thank you @Laterthanyouthink! I usually add the {{cn}} or {{better source}} tags after deleting the source but forgot to do so in this instance. Thanks for the heads up! Princess of Ara 12:41, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Event coordinator granted

After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:

  • The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the "confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
  • The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
  • Please note, if you were previously a member of the "account creator" group, your flag may have been converted to this new group.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! — xaosflux Talk 15:26, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

Request on 19:51:45, 8 December 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Philmensah19

Hi, thanks for your comment. I have not found the information on his election in terms of statistical votes etc, but I have provided enough references to show that he was the member of parliament at the time. Apart form links to Wikipedia showing his election, I have also provided evidence showing that as a member of Parliament, it was reported that he spoke to the local youth. I hope this clarifies the issue. Thank you

How to handle SEO spam?

Hi! I noticed a disruptive edit on a page I created, Cynthia James, where a user inserted an external link unrelated to the subject of the article. When I went to the user's contributions page, I saw that they've been persistently editing articles in disruptive ways—it appears to largely be SEO link spam. It looks like you flagged this on their talk page back in June, but doesn't seem like they've changed their behavior since. I'm not really experienced in how to handle this sort of issue, so thought I'd write you and see if you know what can be done in a situation like this? Thanks! Bookworm-ce (talk) 06:03, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello and happy new year @Bookworm-ce, thank you for dropping me a note. I think the appropriate next step will be to give them a level 2 warning and then escalate if they continue. After a level. 4, they can be reported to WP:AIV. I'll go ahead and revert the enteries and warn them. Princess of Ara 11:00, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
On taking a look at their contribs, they don't appear to be SEO spamming anymore. They're just adding all sorts of unreliable sources in articles. Princess of Ara 11:20, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
Gotcha, thanks for handling! The link they added to the Cynthia James article definitely felt SEO-y, it was a landing page with a ton of optimized phrases like "Who is Cynthia James?" "Cynthia James Biography," and the editor seems to have inserted similar links to pages on the same site to other articles as well, as here. Maybe a mix of SEO spam and other random disruptive edits? Bookworm-ce (talk) 15:17, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
A mix seems more like it because there's really no pattern to it! Princess of Ara 19:38, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Noted, I still can't see significant coverage in multiple reliable sources. Bellanaija, Operanews, Linda Ikeji, YouTube are not considered reliable sources. There's also some fake referencing going on. You should also remove external links from the body of the text. BTW, the way the references are listed, he's the author of all the sources. You should fix that, some reviewers might not be patient to look through them since they don't appear to be independent.
@User talk:Princess of Ara Thanks so much! I have removed all the Bellanaija, Operanews, Linda Ikeji and Youtube references. I also think I have removed the external references. If you have the time again, please help me check if it's okay now. Also, I don't know if it's permitted for experienced editors to help new ones. If it's permitted, would you please help fixing it, please.Nellly2022 (talk) 12:35, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
The only way to fix it is by finding sources that prove notability. I would help if it was a subject I was interested in but I'm not. Please also see WP:INDENT. Princess of Ara 16:35, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

Article for deletion

Hi Princess Please I would need your help for my first article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kris-Zaga to be left as an orphan instead of being nominated for deletion. I am in the learning process and just trying out a few articles. I made changes as requested and I would appreciate pointers and or edited corrections for the article to stay as an orphan. Thank you.Aspaman (talk) 20:09, 13 January 2022 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aspaman (talkcontribs) 20:07, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello @Aspaman, the orphan status of the article has nothing to do with the deletion discussion. The essence of the deletion discussion is to assess the {{notability}} of the subject. So you can start by going here to !vote and explain why the subject merits inclusion in the encyclopaedia. Regards. Princess of Ara 21:09, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello @Princess, Thank you for your response i know its done in good faith and i continued to work on the article to learn more of editing here and i have made changes to infobox or gng you mentioned.. I fillowed examples from other articles to improve. I also voted to keep as you recommended to vote. and give reasons, references to other articles similar. thanks Aspaman (talk) 20:36, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

Nafiu Bala Rabiu Article

Hello @Princess of Ara, how are you and happy new year. Please I am still new to this but will you kindly help me check this article Nafiu Bala Rabiu? To me I think the subject passes WP:GNG as he is the main point of discussion in three reliable and independent sources (see references 2, 6 and 7, even 9 too). Moshswacide (talk) 08:54, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi @Moshswacide, thank you for dropping me a note and apologies for the late response. I see the article is at AfD already so I guess we should just leave it to the community to decide if the subject is truly notable. I know it can be stressful working so hard on a page and then see it get nominated for deletion but it gets better. Princess of Ara 21:26, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Chris Ojigbani

Good morning @ Princess of Ara. Thanks again for your advice on my article. I have since your last review studied many help sections on Wikipedia, and I think have improved the article. WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Article Review and Help for Qdot

Hi Princess of Ara, please I need your help to review a Wikipedia article am creating for Qdot. pls find rhe the link here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Qdot Ibjaja055 (talk) 13:54, 11 October 2022 (UTC)

Apologies @Ibjaja055 but I had been off while but I see you got the article reviewed. Well done! Princess of Ara 18:23, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Thank you @Princess of Ara I will keep in touch. Ibjaja055 (talk) 21:11, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
== Qdot ==
I created the article Qdot (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Qdot) with references in line with Wikipedia guidelines but maybe it wasn't enough because the article was drafted but the article was recreated with only blog References( (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qdot) and it is still on the Wikipedia space. I am confused. Ibjaja055 (talk) 12:29, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
@Princess of Ara Ibjaja055 (talk) 12:30, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
@Ibjaja055, You can simply add the needed references to the article so that it doesn't get draftified again. Cheers. Princess of Ara 14:00, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for your response. Now, there is another article with same name on the space without a single reliable reference. Should I continue edit my draft or I should just leave it? Ibjaja055 (talk) 14:09, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Edit the one that already exists in mainspace. You can simply redirect your draft to the one in mainspace. Princess of Ara 14:54, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
@Princess of Ara, his edits were stinked with COI/UPE issues. So, he was advised to go through AfC. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 20:00, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
@Reading Beans, This is noted. Princess of Ara 15:43, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

Draft: Helena Shuuladu rejection

Hi Princes Ara. Thank you for your review on my draft article. I will however work on it and resubmit to address the short comings you have highlighted.

On that note, I however want you to see the same person entry on Norwegian Wikipedia.

https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helena_Shuuladu Do Wikipedia writing rules differ or varies from language to language?

Martin Hipangwa (talk) 20:37, 29 December 2022 (UTC)

Martin Hipangwa, thank you for dropping by. Yes, different wikis have different standards for notability. In this case, I didn’t see the subject meeting WP:MUSICBIO or WP:SIGCOV.
You’re welcome to submit for further review by a fresh pair of eyes. Princess of Ara 07:30, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

Anthony Azekwoh is a digital artist and author who lives and works in Lagos, Nigeria.

Early life

Born on May 17, 2000, Anthony first took an interest in writing at 13, and art at 16, initially drawing with ink pens on paper before moving to Adobe Photoshop.

Art and Writing

Anthony Azekwoh started out as a writer, and now, within his catalog, he has also designed album and single covers for several artists, including Adekunle Gold[1], Blaqbonez[2], Show Dem Camp, and Masego.

The young creative’s influences as an artist are diverse. They range from his contemporaries and mentors like Duro Arts to modern American artists like Norman Rockwell. Anthony’s works both as a writer are steeped in a firm conviction that as a Nigerian artist, his works about things not connected to issues of the time.

He draws inspiration from history and the present times and brings them to an elevated stratum of existence. Featured in publications like The Guardian[3], Culture Custodian[4], the world news[5], etc, and with a NFT collection, Anthony set up The Rosemary Fund[6] — a grant that has supported over 10 Nigerian artists so far.

Exhibitions

In 2020, Anthony staged a successful Lagos exhibition titled ‘Homecoming’[7] and in April 2021, he showed his latest collection of paintings, titled “Becoming”[8][9][10][11][12] at The Art Tech District in Abuja. The exhibition ran from April the 1st through to the 30th at the Discovery Museum located inside Abuja’s Art-Tech District in Wuse 2.

Art Works

Anthony Azekwoh has made a lot of paintings over the years, and all his paintings, though their subjects always appear human, extra-terrestrial aura across the board.

List of publications

  • The witches of Auchi - September 2020[18][19]
  • The fall of the gods - November 2017[20]
  • Time’s Arrow - March 2021[21]
