Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, ProMare. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Promare, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID). Thank you. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 15:11, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

January 2018

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dlohcierekim. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Promare, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 15:12, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I didn't see the messages here at all, and didn't understand the reason wny the article kept disappearing. I am just a volunteer at this organization and would like to contribute to the wikipedia page but didn't realize that there was a COI option I should have put and the references, I thought I could put all the links and references once the text was all in there. Tutorial page I read said to save often to avoid loosing work, so I decided not to wait too long between uploads, but I understand this to be incorrect now. Anyway... if you can please unblock me, I'll give it another try, this time wait until it is all referenced with outside links and all, and if you hate that as well, then you can get rid of me for good :)ProMare (talk) 16:01, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Thank you for being so honest. Sorry, no. You need to make the disclosure required by WP:PAID, even as a volunteer. You need to read and heed that. You need a user name that reflects you as an individual, not a "volunteer" with the company. I would not unblock you to continue to add content to the page about the company. You can suggest edits on the article talk page. If writing about this company is your only reason for being here, then I will not unblock. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 22:16, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
