If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Process Plus/Process Plus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WuhWuzDat 18:31, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Process Plus) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is User:Process Plus/Process Plus. Thank you. WuhWuzDat 18:33, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Need Help?

[edit]

Hi .... Do you have a question or something I can help you with? Wikipelli Talk 19:02, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello.... I am sorry if what I am doing is incorrect but I am unfamiliar with wikipedia's communication methods. An unpublished page I was working on was deleted from my account. I was told it was my user name in regards to promotional advertising. I am creating a wiki page for my job, I am only an intern, and I have been working on our wiki page for a couple of weeks on and off. I can change the information or register a new user name, but I need the web page info immediately or my boss says he will fire me on grounds of not doing my job and having no proof I have been working over the past week or so. Please help me get the page backl up, or at least the info emailed to me.

Hi... there are a couple of issues that are 'red-flags' for Wikipedia. First, when you say that you need to "create a wiki page for your job", you're indicating that the page is to be designed primarily to promote your business. This is against Wikipedia's policy. It amounts to advertising and that's not the purpose of an encyclopedia. If the business is notable, and you have third-party references and citations that you can give (a magazine article about the business, for example) then perhaps a page could be created for it.
The other thing is your username. Choosing a username that is the same as a business also suggests that the purpose of your account is to advertise. This, too, is against Wikipedia's policy.
Let your boss know this and have him/her read the Wikipedia policies. Good luck! Wikipelli Talk 19:13, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Policy on Pages that Advertise:
G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion.
Pages that are exclusively promotional, and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic. Note that simply having a company or product as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion.

I'm sorry, but I'm at the doctor's office, so I don't have time to do what you ask. You've made a reasonable request, so there shouldn't be any problem with someone else fulfilling it. Please go to WP:AN and post a request for undeletion — simply copy/paste the following message:

"Please undelete User:Process Plus/Process Plus. Nyttend, who deleted it, says that it should be undeleted, but he doesn't have time to do everything properly, so he told me to come here and ask for help."

Hope this helps! Nyttend (talk) 19:24, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:28, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, your account has been blocked; you are welcome to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. - Dank (push to talk) 19:59, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • You were blocked while I was writing the advice below. You can either request an unblock in order to file a username change request at WP:CHU, or simply start a new account. If you do that, it is advisable to say on the new account's user page that it has taken over from this one and that you are editing on behalf of ProcessPlus. Advice

[edit]

I have restored the page at Nyttend's request, but I must reiterate some of the things people have said above. You should perhaps show this to your boss, because he may be expecting you do do things which, through no fault of yours, are not possible.

  • Your user name. Wikipedia accounts are for individuals only, who are personally responsible for them; usernames which are or seem to be those of companies or groups are not permitted and are blocked. Please choose an individual username and apply at WP:CHU for a change (click on "Simple" at the bottom of that page). Do this soon, before someone blocks your account. (Too late - see above).
  • Conflict of interest. Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion of any kind. As an anyone-can-edit site it is vulnerable to being used for promotion and is extremely resistant to any such attempt. Someone writing about himself, his band or his company has from our point of view a conflict of interest - he wants to promote his subject, Wikipedia wants a neutral point of view. It is clear that you have a COI: see WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest for the restrictions you should observe - basically, make no changes yourself that could possibly be controversial, such as posting an article about your company: suggest them, declaring your interest, and let other users without a COI decide.
  • Promotional tone. One of the problems for editors with a COI is that their enthusiasm leads them into promotional language. An encyclopedia article is quite a different thing from a company's web-site or manifesto. Your draft has phrases like "innovative", "commitment to excellence", "reputation of quality work", "passion for improvement", "multitude of awards." These are PR-speak, puffery, "peacock terms". When writing for Wikipedia, you should imagine a hostile critic looking over your shoulder, saying at every glowing adjective: "Who says so? Can you prove it from a reliable independent source? No? then take it out." WP:Verifiability: "This policy requires that all quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged be attributed to a reliable, published source."
  • Notability. The notability requirement is to show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." The only independent references at the moment are #6 (a deadlink) and #9 (I don't count Answers.com as independent).

User:Process Plus/Process Plus, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Process Plus/Process Plus and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Process Plus/Process Plus during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. WuhWuzDat 07:01, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

account deletion

[edit]

Accounts on Wikipedia are not deleted. If you wish to discontinue this account, simply stop using it. The aforementioned deletion of User:Process Plus/Process Plus will be taken care of in time. Skier Dude (talk) 19:45, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
