Speedy deletion of Francesco Nardelli[edit]

A tag has been placed on Francesco Nardelli requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Superflewis (talk) 15:51, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you're interested in improving the article! "Cleanup" usually means one or more of several things. First, it often means that the article needs sources -- you've got this covered pretty well with the footnotes etc. Second, that the article needs to be subdivided and/or better organized. In this case, it's long, so I'd try to structure it into some subdivisions. For people, the common divisions are "Early life" "Education" "Career" "Awards and achievements," things like that. Third, it often means that the article isn't encyclopedic in tone -- in other words, it needs to be very neutral in tone and stick to statements of fact rather than using adjectives like "historic" "ground-breaking" "outstanding" etc. So a sentence like "Thanks to this groundbreaking project, in 1985 the Indonesian Government signed an historic agreement for the conservation of the Sumatran Rhino" could be rewritten to be more factual and less praising, like so: "The project resulted in the Indonesian government's signature of a rhino conservation agreement in 1985, the first time the government had signed such an agreement." See WP:NPOV for more information on this. Good luck! --Bookgrrl holler/lookee here 00:26, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
