Hello Prof. Dumancic,

I'd like to thank you and your students for their contributions to Feminism in Russia. You've added some really valuable high-quality information to Wikipedia; very much appreciated!

Because there appear to be a great deal of sources on the subject, it would be good to give Russian grassroots women’s organizations its own article. Many of the sections in Feminism in Russia (especially Soviet feminism) really deserve their own dedicated articles, actually; I've just been lazy and haven't gotten around to it. Per Wikipedia's rules on due and undue weight on various viewpoints on a topic, large topical overview articles like Feminism in Russia should be kept fairly balanced in terms of the amount of space they devote to any one era/movement, and your students' additions have pushed more of the focus on post-Soviet feminism than on the coverage of the entire 18th and 19th century combined! Looking at it this way, I hope it's clearer why this addition appeared problematic to User:Crisco 1492, who reverted the changes.

I think the best thing to do would be to create Russian grassroots women’s organizations (I'm happy to help!), and to provide a brief summary + link to this new full article in the post-Soviet section of Feminism in Russia. Does that make sense?

One last thing: please encourage your students to sign up for accounts and keep working on this topic! Wikipedia functions on the principle of one-to-one collaboration, and it's hard to have a discussion about content with an anonymous IP address or a professor representing a larger group :) Cheers, Accedietalk to me 19:20, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ETA:  Done
Again, I do hope you encourage your student(s) to keep working on this! I'm very happy to help out with formatting and the various intricacies & nuances of Wikipedia policy :) Accedietalk to me 20:20, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for the barnstar, Marko :)

I'm about to head off to Ukraine for a couple weeks, so my Internet connectivity may be a bit spotty, but do let me know if you need any more help on the wiki. I used to be on the path to professorship in Slavic studies, too, until life took me elsewhere, so it's great to meet a fellow Slavist interested in Wikipedia!
