Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Reversion to old profile[edit]

Hi,

I have been working on this page for Professor Derek M Yellon. We updated the information as requested but it has been reverted to an old version a couple of times, specifically by dudewheresmywallet. I'm unclear as to why and would be grateful to understand how I can have the updated info/page restored for good.

Thanks ProfYellon (talk) 12:28, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

request edit[edit]

Hi,

Following on from advice received from the Wikipedia Volunteer Response Team (Re: [Ticket#2019070210005327] Wiki page: Derek M Yellon) I am following up on their guidance.

I've been trying to get an updated page for Derek M Yellon (my boss) online but it keeps getting reverted back to a previous version by an editor but I don't understand why. The information is correct and validated so unclear why Dudewheresmywallet<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Dudewheresmywallet> won't allow the updates?

I tried to post on the Talk page before but no luck, I'd be grateful for any help to get this updated information online for his page.

Thanks, Sara ProfYellon (talk) 09:45, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

to read as:

  • The Sun's diameter is 864,337 miles.
↑ This is y ↑

using as a reference:

Proposed deletion of article Derek M Yellon[edit]

The article Derek M Yellon which you created has been nominated for deletion. Please see the talk page and feel free to contribute to the discussion process.Dudewheresmywallet (talk) 16:49, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am hoping not to have this page deleted. I am only trying to reconfigure the information to be more complete and in a more readable structure, with updated references as requested previously. Is it possible to perhaps remove this original profile and I could put up the renewed one. As the profile has been redone it may be preferable? Thanks for your consideration. I also wanted to ask, in practice, how do individuals update their own profile if it is deemed COI? Are pages meant to only be edited/revised by external parties? Thanks for your clarification Prof Yellon Aug 23/19 ProfYellon (talk) 08:49, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
