International Recognitions
Membership of ITU Council: In recognition of the development of ICT sector in pursuance of prompt policy interventions, global community expressed confidence in the leadership of Ms. Rehman by electing Pakistan as a member of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council during Plenipotentiary Conference 2014 (PP-14) in Busan, Korea.[1]
GSMA “Spectrum for Mobile Broadband Award”: GSMA acclaimed the transparency and success of ‘Next Generation Mobile Services’ auction held in April 2014 by awarding ‘Spectrum for Mobile Broadband Award’ during GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain in 2015.[2]
GEM-TECH 2015 Global Achiever Award:More recently, her ICT related initiatives for girls have been acknowledged worldwide. The initiatives target at providing awareness, training, ICT courses, coding as well as application development to girls and ultimately focusing on empowerment of women to better realize and protect their own rights, earn a livelihood without undue burden and to strive freely for their socio-economic development. She has been recognized as GEM-TECH 2015 Global Achiever by ITU & UNWomen.[3][4]
