As to your question: language like "is also known as the quintessential Charming Funny Guy" "As a child, he made a decision to devote his life to acting", "wasted no time leaping onto the scene of acting where he offered up his acting skills", and the glurge-laden "left Adam to deal with a recovery period that took him away from the passion that fuelled his life, acting. This life-altering experience ultimately supplied him with the strength and knowledge that he could tackle anything" have no place in an encyclopedia article. I have to disagree. Have you not viewed other celebrities Wiki articles? All include a biography about the actor, and that "language" was simply a biography referring to describing the actor. Then can you help to make it more acceptable and to meet the standards that are required. New to this whole Wikipedia and didn't think it was this complicating.

To a publicist, which technically makes him (Adam) the client. All I asked was for help in making the article "Wiki appropriate" as the thousands of other actors and actresses have and I'm sure they didn't encounter this amount of trouble. Then what would you say other actors/celebrity articles are? I have gone over and over again what I could have possibly done wrong and I did NOT intentionally try to promote whatsoever. I have seen my share of Press Releases and this was not that in anyway, simply just trying to get create an article for Adam because I noticed he didn't have one and I constantly and researching using Wikipedia.

Marketing this is the definition I was going by and I made no mention of a product or our company. Promoting and here again absolutely no intention.

User:OrangeMike asked me to comment here, as I have a public relations background and often interject with a "softer touch" in Mike's anti-promotion activities.

When a marketing editor is asked to disclose their COI in an incriminating fashion, this has the opposite-than-intended effect, because it's embarrassing and gives the impression that the editor will be harassed and ridiculed if they disclose their affiliation with the article-subject.

Unfortunately, we have a lot of articles about people and about companies that are written by the article-subject and are promotional by Wikipedia's standards and each one that we let slip through the cracks sets a bad example for others. This creates an impossible burden against editors like OrangeMike to fight against it and it's a frustrating endeavor, which leads to a justifiably frustrated tone from Orange.

Hi, yes thank you for commenting, I felt more as though it was an interrogation and didn't appreciate it as I obviously am not familiar with Wikipedia and went off what I have seen in other celebrities articles, I felt as though I was being "picked on" My problem with the article being deleted is just that, now no one can see what exactly I am talking about and then I tried creating a brand new page and of course that was deleted as well. So, if you can sense my frustration in this entire process it is extremely frustrating.

I also created a brand new article from scratch, but that doesn't appear to be available either.
I believe once it is deleted, only admins can view it. Wikipedia doesn't want advertising anywhere, even in Talk pages or archives, so our preference is to wipe it from the record completely. The same thing goes for attack pages and other issues. CorporateM (Talk) 17:46, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see that, well at least if it is still visible to you administrators then at least I can have a second opinion on the articles, considering he didn't hesitate to delete the second one in a matter of minutes before anyone could've even have had their opinion heard.
I didn't even get that option to request for anything because Orange Mike didn't give me the chance to do so.
In general the community is not going to want to have extensive debates with a PR rep any more than the New York Times would want to if you were pitching a story they didn't want. OTOH, a submission to Articles for Creation would have more of the effect you were looking for, where feedback will be provided until/if the article is acceptable.
First thing, we have many PR contributors that mean well, but are employed by someone that does not meet Wikipedia's requirements for an article. And many of them get strung along in such a way that wastes many hours of everybody's time. If he doesn't meet the requirement, it is not a good use of your time to participate here on his behalf, because nothing will be accomplished. In order to qualify, we need multiple press stories from credible, established news sources where is not just mentioned, but the subject of the entire article.
Orange emailed the original article. I have annotated it in a sense to emphasize the areas Wikipedia would think is promotional or editorialized below. I do not believe this was a bad-faith effort to spam. This is just how marketing professionals are taught to write and it's difficult for us to get use to Wikipedia's style, which is very counter-intuitive to anyone with a marketing background.

Thank you for taking the time to do that. It put it more into perspective, rather than just interrogate me practically and accuse me of something I didn't intend. Did he happen to send oyu the second article which didn't include any of the text you annotated, I basically started from scratch to sound more neutral.

Wikipedia should not be required to provide this degree of customer service any more than the New York Times should have to provide extensive training on the best way to pitch them, but unfortunately it's the only way out of the little problem we have on Wikipedia. In my opinion, when a PR contributor is shunned, they return under new accounts and the anti-promotion task force increases their own work-load unintentionally.
Anyways, the next step is not to determine who was right or wrong or what draft was ok or whatnot. It's to assess whether the subject meets Wikipedia's requirements for an article to exist (see my comments on this above). OrangeMike and I are both uncertain if he meets the requirements, but could be persuaded if you can dig up the kind of profile stories I outlined.
If he doesn't meet the requirements, nothing can be done. If this is the case, you quite simply want to have an article on a subject that Wikipedia does not want to cover. Alright, so where do I send the stories to in which you outlined? Such as the magazine article, and the nonprofit organization proof? The proof of him being on those television shows are straight from your Wikipedia articles for those specific television shows.
