Proposed deletion of "VisualBB"[edit]

The deletion of an article you created, VisualBB, has been proposed for the following reason:

Software with no assertion of notability.

You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy. You may wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Speedy deletion of VisualBB[edit]

A tag has been placed on VisualBB requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. January 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with VisualBB. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 05:35, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Would like to keep the page up[edit]

I'm the developer of the software and I would like the page to remain up. I know I don't have a user base yet, but I'm working on that and I believe having a page on Wikipedia will help that.

Your rationale at the deletion discussion[edit]

You wrote, I'm the developer of the software and I would like the page to remain up. I know I don't have a user base yet, but I'm working on that and I believe having a page on Wikipedia will help that.

The problem is that Wikipedia must not be used for that purpose. See point 1 of how not to be a spammer. If you want Wikipedia to have an article on VisualBB, you must develop your user base prior to creating the article. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 12:11, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to VisualBB constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. LeaveSleaves 18:44, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to VisualBB. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing.  Marlith (Talk)  03:57, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism?[edit]

How is it vandalism when I'm the author of it, seeing as I wrote it I have the right to edit it the way I want, albeit delete the information

Wiki-meetup Nashville on Labor Day weekend![edit]

Wiki-meetup Nashville will be September 5–6 (Labor Day weekend) 2009. No conference rooms or libraries. Food, beer and conversation, maybe even a show. So come either day or both! --EdwardsBot (talk) 00:13, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
