Proposed deletion of "VisualBB"

The deletion of an article you created, VisualBB, has been proposed for the following reason:

Software with no assertion of notability.

Speedy deletion of VisualBB

A tag has been placed on VisualBB requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Would like to keep the page up

I'm the developer of the software and I would like the page to remain up. I know I don't have a user base yet, but I'm working on that and I believe having a page on Wikipedia will help that.

Your rationale at the deletion discussion

You wrote, I'm the developer of the software and I would like the page to remain up. I know I don't have a user base yet, but I'm working on that and I believe having a page on Wikipedia will help that.

The problem is that Wikipedia must not be used for that purpose. See point 1 of how not to be a spammer. If you want Wikipedia to have an article on VisualBB, you must develop your user base prior to creating the article. -- Blanchardb -^{Me•MyEars•MyMouth}- timed 12:11, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

How is it vandalism when I'm the author of it, seeing as I wrote it I have the right to edit it the way I want, albeit delete the information
