Request reason:

I am not a "Sockpuppet" of Mjgm84. When will I be unblocked ???. Although I have contributed to similar articles. Have I done anything wrong ??. I always provide sources for my edits and most of my images have correct licencing Tags. The few images, I have uploaded which were removed I tried to Tag as best I could, in accordance with Wiki guidlines. Please unblock me. Psycotics1454 16:47, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Both Checkuser and the Duck test prove that you are the same person. — -- lucasbfr talk 17:51, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mjgm84 was indefblocked for persistent copyright infringement Jan 24, 2007. This user was created Apr 16, 2007. M's last edit before being blocked was to Clan Munro‎. This user's first edit was to the same article. Both share an interest in Scots clans, and both have posted a number of clan crests from the same website (http://www.scotclans.com). Like M, this user either does not understand or refuses to abide by copyright policies. Possibly the most telling evidence are these uploads: Image:DornochFirthMap.jpg and Image:BattleCarbisdale.jpg (both from Mjgm84), and File:BealachMap.jpg and Image:Clachnaharry.jpg (both from this user). Note the identical source map and edit summaries. We also have this user's candid admission, on his user page, that he "used to have a different username..." I think this one is beyond question. -- But|seriously|folks  17:07, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok so I edit the same articles as M and share an interest in Scots clans, and both have posted a number of clan crests from the same website http://www.scotclans.com... These crests are free to use as stated on the website. First of all, people can edit Wikipedia articles from pretty much anywhere on planet Earth. Just because we have edited some of the same articles does not mean we are the same person. Also there are very few websites on the internet where you can get clan crests from so it is not surprising that we have used the same website, paricuarly as it is a website which states they grant permission to use the crests. As for those images from that map; I actually own a copy of the map. It is easily available to buy for just £1 and can be over the internet. That user probably has the same map, as, like you said, shares the same interest in Scots clans. The Map itself has no copyright terms on it but since those images were removed I decided not to upload any more from the map. You will see from my User page (before I was blocked), that I have uploaded many more images, with correct copyright tags and no copyright infringment. In most cases, where required, I have even provided an email address of the owner who has granted permission in agreement to the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License. So on the whole most of my edits have been as per Wikipedia guide lines and has not been a continuous problem but in fact a rare occourance where these map images are concerned. So please unblock me. What about the fact that you edit from the same IP? --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 17:36, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)The crests at http://www.scotclans.com are permitted to be used for noncommercial use only. That is not sufficient permission for Wikipedia, so they have to satisfy Wikipedia's non-free content policy. They don't, because they're replaceable with other artist's interpretations of the crests' heraldic descriptions. So those crest images cannot be used at Wikipedia, as you've been told numerous times. Also, the lack of copyright terms is irrelevant to copyright. And all of your images but one have been deleted for one reason or another. You don't seem to understand that you can't just take other people's images and claim them as your own.
By the way, if it wasn't Mjgm84, what was the other user name that you used to have? -- But|seriously|folks  17:40, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In response to your note on my talk page, I didn't protect your user talk page, somebody else did. I also didn't run the checkuser on you that showed that you and Mjgm84 edit from the same IP, as I don't have checkuser privileges. You claim that your "prior user name" was your IP address. Aside from the fact that an IP address is by definition not a user name, why would you say you "used to have" it when you still had it and were still using it before and after you added the "prior user name" note? Also, looking at your contribs as 83.67.100.248, all or nearly all of your edits outside of the topic of Scots clans are to articles about Nirvana (band). Guess who else only edited in the same two areas? (Hint: It's someone who is indefblocked.) As for your threats, go ahead and tell whoever you want about this. I'm confident Jimbo will back me up. -- But|seriously|folks  18:57, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
