RE: Our Lady Peace additions (Hope)[edit]

Will do, I've also done some cleanup for Spiritual Machines and a few other OLP-related namespaces. Just to let you know, apparently it seems that only the first release date for the album is to be included in the infobox. If you go here: Wikipedia:Albums#Release_history, you'll see a table that we can include in some of the OLP album articles to note the alternate release dates — `CRAZY`(lN)`SANE` 06:41, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again, just wanted to let you know that as per WP:MOS, almost all punctuation should go before a reference. For example, it would be correct to put: "the album Burn Burn,[1] which was released in July." instead of "the album Burn Burn[1], which was released in July". The exception to this is when using dashes... a dash would go after the reference: "the album Burn Burn[1]—which was released in July". Just thought I'd let you know. — CIS (talk | stalk) 09:25, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, when you add album reviews to articles, could you please format them as inline citations, like I did with Gloriana (album) and others? That's the preferred method now. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 14:23, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Lind, Washington[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Lind, Washington at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Materialscientist (talk) 12:32, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Advise to read DYK rules and ask whatever left unclear. I myself miscalculated article expansion for my first DYK nomination :-) All length values refer to prose text (excluding tables, figures, bulleted text, quotes, etc.). It is not always trivial to separate those, and thus we use this tool, which you can easily install for yourself too. If you can properly expand the questioned article to 5x (with references, no "empty" phrases) within a few days, it will still be a valid nomination. National Register pics[edit]

Hi! I've noticed all the new images of National Register of Historic Places properties that you've been uploading. They're great! Have you considered uploading them to the Wikimedia Commons rather than to Wikipedia? That way they're available to all Wikimedia projects (you can use them on Wikipedia in exactly the same way as you do now). And I and a few other users have been trying to accumulate all Oregon NRHP wiki-images there. Anyhow, thanks for the terrific photos. —Ipoellet (talk) 05:42, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Music Without Borders.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Music Without Borders.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:27, 24 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock (TALK) 02:27, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know about the Good Article request for Spiritual Machines, but I think you should have held off on nominating it for a bit. It needs a lot of copy-editing to comply with the most basic of Wikipedia article standards (grammatically and stylistically speaking), and I'll do my best to make some edits but I've not got much time at the moment. Hopefully we can eventually get it to GA or even FA status though. — CIS (talk | stalk) 11:36, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FAC[edit]

Hi Publichall. I noticed that you had made your first featured article candidate nomination - welcome to FAC! I unfortunately had to archive the nomination (the bot will run later tonight and take care of the details), and I wanted to express my appreciation for encouraging a collaborative process during the nomination by being so responsive and polite. First-time nominators often have their nominations archived, because it's difficult to measure an article against the FA criteria if you don't have a lot of experience at FAC. I suspect if you can find a copyeditor and get the images cleaned up that the article will do much better at FAC next time. If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to ask me or any of the reviewers. Karanacs (talk) 19:30, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much. I figured this article wouldn't make it in time with the holidays and the sheer mass of work that had to be done with references and such. SM lead paragraphs and limited black case[edit]

Hey again. Just wanted to let you know that we should start adding citations to the lead intro paragraphs. They're pretty much bare of citations, and that's where people will look first when they review the article for FA status. I'm sure that citations already exist in the article's body that we can just migrate to the intro, but I'm not too sure as you're more familiar with the citations. I removed a couple of sentences from the intro a while ago just to cut it down a bit until we could get some citations in... I probably could have left them in until we see if they can be cited. You can re-add if you like, but we need to make sure we can get the claims cited (particularly, the claim about SM having less synthetic layers than previous albums). Secondly, as you can see above from the bot's message on your talk page, the limited edition black case image will be deleted if we don't put it in the article. Did you want to re-add it? Maybe to the infobox?. — CIS (talk | stalk) 01:02, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, I had forgotten all about that FA standard. I've readded the sentence I had removed. So what do you think we should do with the black alt cover? Add it into the infobox? Was there a reason you removed it from there to place in the article in the first place?. — CIS (talk | stalk) 01:33, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry the nom didn't go through. Don't get discouraged though, the article is still great, and we can both work to improve it some more and try again in the future. It's too bad there are so few people on Wikipedia willing to help, but again, the article is much better now than it was before, as are many other OLP album articles you've improved. File source problem with File:F&Nlogo.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:F&Nlogo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

High Lonesome (Randy Travis album)[edit]

Kind of redundant just to say "Musicians listed in the liner notes" and then not list them, isn't it? It'd be like having a tracklist header, saying the songwriters are listed in the liner notes, and then not putting them in. I really think you should just put them in there. • If I recall, each song on the album had a completely different set of musicians so this list will be a doozy but I'll just make it two columns or something. I'll leave the "obvious statement" in as a introduction. Publichall (talk) 03:45, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Shouldn't be too hard to combine it all. I've seen other albums that credit the musicians on each track. I still think there shouldn't be anything there unless you actually list the musicians.
