Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Dear Puddhe,

Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with two hyphens followed by four tildes --~~~~. The software that runs Wikipedia will automatically convert this into a signature which contains your username and the date and time you posted the message, so other users don't get confused.

I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself on your userpage. Please add {{User:PEAR/welcomed}} to your userpage.

Hello there, I saw you redirected the article to military reserve force, which I reverted. While there is overlapping content, there certainly is room for an article on the personnel rather than the force (and alot of content that won't fit in the parent article). Before redirecting/moving an article which is already going, please bring up the matter on the corresponding talk page or slap one of the {{merge}} tags on it, in order that other may voice their opinion. Happy editing, Scoo 17:59, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please use edit summaries[edit]

Hello. Please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries when updating articles. The Mathbot tool shows your usage of edit summaries to be extremely low:

Edit summary usage for Puddhe: 3% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. Based on the last 150 major and 0 minor edits in the article namespace.

Using edit summaries helps other editors quickly understand your edits, which is especially useful when you make changes to articles that are on others' watchlists. Thanks and happy editing! --Kralizec! (talk) 15:26, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fort Rucker[edit]

Hi. Why have you moved the content of Fort Rucker to "Fort Rucker, Alabama"? It's a military base, not a town. —wwoods 20:43, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That is very true, and actually the various ways that military bases are described here (on Wikipedia) oftentimes alternates between "Fort <name>" and "Fort <name>, <state>". I live not far outside of Fort Bragg (in North Carolina) and have seen many instances where people identify their current post as "Fort Bragg, North Carolina" when addressing someone not in the know when it comes to the US military. I know the practice could get confusing when attempting to distinguish between a military base such as Fort Campbell, Kentucky and a town or city, like Fort Myers, Florida. But all I was attempting to do is to put the place into a context by decribing where it is located. —Puddhe 17:08, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Infamous massacres[edit]

Greetings. Please give your opinion before you revert something that is concerning an ongoing discussion. Thanks! --Ddahlberg 15:29, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:UNCPBraves.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:UNCPBraves.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Durin 03:43, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I had uploaded it to be used on the University of North Carolina at Pembroke page, as it is a logo used by the school, and was being lazy about actually adding it in. But the situation has been corrected and it has been put on its intended page.Puddhe 04:07, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help Prevent Article Deletion: Religious Perspectives on Dinosaurs[edit]

Hello, I'm leaving you this message because I notice you've made at least one significant edit to the Wikipedia article Religious perspectives on dinosaurs. The article has recently been nominated for deletion from Wikipedia, and there is considerable support for that position.

I'm hoping you'll help me support the continued existence of the Religious perspectives on dinosaurs article by registering a keep vote on the article's request for deletion page. The article contains some good information, and represents an unobtrusive way to present notable minority viewpoints about dinosaurs that cannot reasonably be elaborated on in the parent article. It shouldn't be deleted simply because the viewpoints it presents aren't "scientific."

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:Latveria.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 14:44, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
