Thanks!

Thanks Puffin. Well Russia is the biggest country on the planet. These districts combined which I've started today are likely the size of several Europes. It should not have taken 10 years to get them started so I see it as a must start, however stubby. At least they are now in the process of being started and in a good place to build upon. They are have articles on Russian wiki, next stage is population/area and maps, gradually.♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:34, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

being a total plank what is it you need me to do? I looked at the link (Referencing for beginners) but couldn't see what I was asked to do? "Please use inline citations" thanks diversemedia (dre) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Diversemedia (talkcontribs) 19:48, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Inline citations let the reader know where the point you are making came from. For example, if I said: "Examples are good." With no inline citation, but there was a reference, people would want to be directed to the reference after each claim to verify that it's true.
So, by using inline citations, I can do this: Examples are great.<ref>www.example.com</ref>

{{Reflist}}

This would show up like this:
Examples are great.[1]
  1. ^ www.example.com
Make sure you place the {{reflist}} template underneath the references header. You only need to place it there as it automatically makes a list of all of the references you have included in your citations. Notice that when you click that citation, it directs you to the suitable reference (in this case www.example.com) to make the article easier to navigate. If you need any more help or are still confused, just ask. Thank you. Puffin Let's talk! 19:54, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Right, I think I understand, so where "essex" is mentioned, link to it, ditto others. I also got a message about my username, what's that all about?

Diversemedia (talk) 20:07, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

May I also note that Facebook is not a reliable source. See WP:VERIFY. Yes, your username seems to be promotional. I google searched "Diverse Media." It seems to represent a company. If you do not change your username, you may be blocked from editing. Please make a request at WP:CHU. Puffin Let's talk! 20:08, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
OK, I did a search for diverse media, I am NONE of those people or companies. I am self-employed tho and I do use that name but it's not incorporated or registered as such

Diversemedia (talk) 20:17, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

However, it is still in violation of the username policy. If you refuse to change it, you will be blocked from editing. Puffin Let's talk! 20:18, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
how can I be in violation if i'm not promoting me, or anyone I know or anything I am associated with my username?Diversemedia (talk) 20:20, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
According to the username policy, you should be encouraged to change your username as it is misleading and could be mis-interpreted. Please change it, just to not confuse anyone. Puffin Let's talk! 20:30, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Kelsey Grammer "blind date"

This edit tried to disambiguate "blind date" and mistakenly chose the tv series. I see you were using Dab solver. Just a FYI. --Javaweb (talk) 15:39, 8 August 2011 (UTC)Javaweb

Must have been a mistake, I assumed it because it says "is an American actor and comedian." So I thought it was going to talk about a US TV series. Puffin Let's talk! 15:43, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation revert

I reverted your recent moves per WP:DABNAME since there are no primary articles. —ˈtɒdləˈtɒdɪ(Toddlertoddy) 00:16, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Hey Puffin, have you forgotten you've started to review Yusef Khan and put it on hold...about two weeks ago? You wouldn't mind addressing my corrections? Thank you. GSorby - Talk! 11:10, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Club SpongeBob.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Club SpongeBob.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:46, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Please bear in mind that one of the reasons for user essays, is that etiquette demands that they should not be edited by others without discussion. See WP:User pages. FWIW, there is no specific mention in policy whether the RfA questions are optional or not, and this remains a bone of contention, and one which WP:RFA2011 hope to get clarified. If you review the research we have done for WP:RFA2011/QUESTIONS, you'll find that not answering questions invariably results in pile-on oppose !votes. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:38, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

If you can't stomach constructive comments, please at least AGF yourself and keep off my talk and user pages until you can. See WP:BOOMERANG. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:44, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you, I admit my mistakes after a discussion on your talk page, even if it was a very minor one. Puffin Let's talk! 16:55, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Template Submission

Hi, you reviewed my template Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Template:Dragon Gate employees. This is the first time I'm doing this so I don't know what documentation it is supposed to have. Could you link me to a template with proper documentation as an example? I read this, Wikipedia:Template documentation, but I still don't really understand what to include. I only understand the "purpose of the template", which is to provide links to Dragon Gate (a japanese pro wrestling company) employees. A related template would be Template:Dragon Gate Starship.paint (talk) 02:24, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Ok, let's look at the Template:Navbox, as you can see in the documentation, as you can see in the documentation, straight away it tells you what it is for. Then, it has the parameters, such as title and name et cetera. It then gives examples of usage, so what to type if you want to use the template. Then, all you need to include is related templates and categories and your documentation is done. If you understand the rest of the guide, then it explains what to do and how to make it (Wikipedia:Template documentation). If you need any more help, don't hesitate to ask. The Original Barnstar
For helping me with the article Silver Reef, Utah, and for all your other contributions to Wikipedia, I award you this original barnstar. Keep up the good work! The UtahraptorTalk/Contribs 21:25, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, I was wondering when I would get my first barnstar, and I finally got one, thank you so much! Puffin Let's talk! 21:26, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Jinx wiki images

I got your message about the pics I uploaded for the GIJoe character Jinx. I'm not sure what you are asking me to do though. I put a small description pointing out where each pic came from and the source of each pic. I believe two were from GIJoe RAH The Movie and one was from the tv show GIJoe Renegades. I also pointed out that the pics were screenshots. Two Movie Screenshots and one was a TV Show screenshot. I read the info on the links you left, but I'm still confused. I thought using the pics for non-commercial use fit under the category of Fair Use Rational. What did I leave out? Are you asking me to put a source on the file pages? If yes, how do you write the source. I should also point out that I made the screenshots myself. Xybernauts (talk) 17:27, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

See here, this is the rationale you should fill in. Puffin Let's talk! 17:29, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your response. I was reading article after article trying to figure out what to do, but I was very confused. I edited the File:Kim Arashikage from GIJoe Renagade 3.jpg page. I added the name of the article that the pic was for in the "[[]]". The thing is I'm not sure if I was supposed to copy the text on the link you gave me word for word, or if I was supposed to select the individual rationale as it applies to the specific files I uploaded. I was hoping you could check the edit to see if I did it right and if so I'll apply a similar edit to the movie pics as well. Xybernauts (talk) 18:02, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't mean to bother you again. I was wondering if it's ok for me to remove those warnings you left on the pages of the Jinx pics? Xybernauts (talk) 07:45, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Yes, please do, in fact, I'll do it for you. Puffin Let's talk! 10:18, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Rotating locomotion in living systems

Hi Puffin, just letting you know you accidentally left a message on my talk page that was intended for another user; I'm the nominator for Rotating locomotion in living systems, not Fallen Angel (The X-Files). Regarding the review, I haven't had time yet to go over the reference shortcomings (criteria 2b/2c), but I've responded to your other comments on the review page. In particular, I think we have a difference of opinion on words not to be used – when you get a chance, I'd appreciate it if you could provide some more detail or cite guidelines to support your position, either on my talk page or the review page. Thanks again for reviewing! » Swpbτ ¢ 18:34, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, my browser was bouncing around, I must have pressed backspace and gone on to your talk page by accident. I will take a look at the review page. Puffin Let's talk! 18:37, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I've finished the citations. » Swpbτ ¢ 23:27, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Djungarian hamster

A) For the first question - he has no undeleted contributions. There's no reason to leave a page of spam lying around.

B) I've just deleted the previous two sentences, but you can find them easily in your own history. DS (talk) 15:15, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

I merged a report of yours on WP:AIV

Just wished to let you know that I have merged your report with the one that SDPatrolBot reported. I have kept the exact wording and signature. The only thing I did not include is the template including the links to various stuff about the vandal. LikeLakers2 ([[User
