Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Talk:Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Celia Homeford (talk) 14:39, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I have added the signature. Also, will the change I suggest to the Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor Wikipedia article, be made in regards to the shortening of her name?

Please don't begin lines with a blank space

[edit]

Please don't begin lines in talk page discussions with a blank space, as you did here. Doing so messes up the talk page formatting. Thanks. Aoi (青い) (talk) 10:18, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I was wondering why my format looked a bit off.Purplebrown43 (talk) 10:27, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't tag your reply directly onto a previous comment

[edit]

Please don't tag your reply directly onto a previous comment by another editor, as you did here. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:41, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

One more suggestion

[edit]

Hi Purplebrown43, when you participate in talk page discussions, please indent your replies using colons (:) as described in the instructions at WP:THREAD. Doing so helps other reads follow discussions more clearly and makes it easier for people using accessibility assistance devices to follow discussions. Thanks, Aoi (青い) (talk) 19:51, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:THREAD and indent properly in talk page discussions. Aoi (青い) (talk) 20:42, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Aoi (青い) I'm still learning how to use the Wikipedia platform. Did you have time to check the cited sources, I posted in Prince Harry talk page?Purplebrown43 (talk) 20:47, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Martinevans123 (talk) 20:44, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
