Your question at the help desk

[edit]

This link is what I think you want. Can I just note that given the increased use of automated tools, many editors will have edited the same page.

Also, as a sidenote, the user talk link in your sig does not work: it links to User talk:Push the button.... It would be helpful if it could link to this page. Thanks and regards, Woody (talk) 17:23, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the reply. I have amended my signature, so I guess if it appears in bold with no link on this page then it's worked. pushthebutton | go on... | push it! 18:56, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

While the hook is still located in the prep area you are able to change the image yourself. That being said, I chose the image of the giraffe for a reason. Images of buildings occur at DYK almost as frequently as photographs of dead white men (fungus, fish, and 20th century warships are other common themes). The giraffe image is visually different from the types of images that routinely appear. A look at the pending submissions at T:TDYK also reveals that one or two building images are likely to appear in the next day or two. The giraffe was chosen because it is significantly different from any of the images that have recently appeared at DYK or are likely to appear in he next few days. It thus provides a level of diversity that is often called for at DYK but difficult to achieve. --Allen3 talk 18:06, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Giraffe Manor

[edit]
Updated DYK query On August 9, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Giraffe Manor, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Wikijunior Big Cats

[edit]

I noticed you were talking about Wikijunior Big Cats on the website The Wikipedia Review. The conversation turned to doubts about me (Gabriel Hurley) and whether or not I had good intentions. I want to assure you that Jimmy Wales is aware of the book I have been attempting to publish. Indeed, it was originally supposed to be a collaborative project on Wikibooks, but all the collaborators have disappeared, and it's mostly up to me. I am half-way through revising the layout of the book. You can get an idea of what it will look like by previewing the PDF at http://www.scribd.com/doc/2490736/Wikijunior-Big-Cats . Please share this information with the people at The Wikipedia Review, and if you have any questions, please email them to me directly - I don't have an activated Wikipedia Review account as of yet. All the profits that I make from the books will go towards covering the expenses related with reserving ISBN numbers. --Munchkinguy (talk) 14:46, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
