DYK for George Beauchamp
Thanks for your review friend! I've changed the pic. :) --LLcentury (talk) 15:02, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
- User:QuakerSquirrel, the George Beauchamp DYK nomination is still on the DYK "approved" page. I am not as intimately familiar with the process, but I wanted to make sure the bot wouldn't mistakenly move it to the queue/prep stage. Should I remove this template from there?--MattMauler (talk) 02:36, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
- @MattMauler: Yes, please remove it. Thank you! QuakerSquirrel (talk) 13:23, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi, it's nice that you're trying to help WP:Women in Red by creating articles about women academics. I've written a number of articles on academics in the past, and I can tell you that you need solid independent sources to establish notability. Your articles are just referencing resumes published by the American Psychological Association and death notices. Even if these women have published dozens of books, they have to be written about in books, interviews, etc. to establish notability for Wikipedia. Please look for something other than their curriculum vitae at the APA to support notability. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 14:58, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Thank you for your feedback. We referred to the Notability Requirements for Academics when writing the articles.
- Karen Saywitz was awarded a Lifetime Advocacy Award from APA, which is only awarded once every few years (link). This seems to meet Requirement 2. After reading your critique, I also added the fact that she was elected a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (source: The Chronicle), which meets Criteria 3.
- Paula R. Pietromonaco is editor-in-chief of the journal Emotion, which has an impact factor of 3, making it an important journal in the field of psychology. This meets Criteria 8.
- Thanks again for your feedback. QuakerSquirrel (talk) 16:03, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
