I'm mystified as to why you didn't just edit the more correct indication of Google "popularity" as you addressed (and I agree) rather than just delete the reference of "popularity"? Go ahead and do what you propose ("turns up first in Google search") rather than object and delete. Wikipedia allows users to make changes directly. (clarification) Wknight94 (and his pal Ned Scott (talk · contribs)) has been stalking me recently, making little sniping edits like this to a variety of articles that are related to me. Diffs and documentation are at User_talk:Elonka#Stalking. My guess is that Wknight is angry that I called him out in a Naming conventions discussion, where he was talking about using his admin tools to push his own POV, and I pointed out that that would be unethical. I also repeated back to him his own statement from his RfA, where he himself said that it would be improper for admins to use their tools on articles that they were involved with. It evidently "stung" him, so he's now got it twisted around his head somehow that my reading of his RfA is "stalking" him, and he's responding by stalking through my own contrib history and other articles related to me. There's also an indication that he's trying to stick me into a Catch-22: He's making challenging edits to Elonka-related articles, but if I make any changes, even if just to add a source, I'll get pounced on for WP:AUTO violations. Wknight, I agree with Quartermaster. If you want a change made, do it. If you want a reference on something related to me, ask me for it. I'll give it to you, you can add it to the article in any way that you want, and life goes on. Stop with the harassment. --Elonka 18:50, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

You should both admit here though that my removal of the content at question is completely justified. If you don't like how I came across it, that's the unfortunate price of making yourself so conspicuous. UMSL WP

i've been thinking for a few weeks about starting a wikiproject for UMSL like that for the WashU project. St. Louis articles in general are pretty underdeveloped and I don't want to split the precious pool of editors that are out there. I dunno. If Wash U has one, then UMSL should too, right? Would you be interested? It is mostly nonsense, really. We can edit right now, there's no reason that fancy userboxes and project banners need to even come into play. Tell me your thoughts. I'd probably prefer the whole article deleted. While the article is/was up, I did learn something interesting; it seems that the Marquis Who's Who in America folks are harvesting wikipedia BLP's. Antonio de Dios

I'll have to contest the speedy deletion of the article "Antonio de Dios". As indicated in the article he is the founder of what is accepted (by a reliable secondary resource) as "the biggest and most successful breeder of exotic birds in the world". He's a well-known person in the aviculture business. So I think a proper tagging would be to ask for more citations (which I'll provide shortly). Best regards. CSD tagging of Kirk Weddle

Hi. I noticed you tagged Kirk Weddle for speedy deletion as WP:CSD#A7. The criteria say "to avoid speedy deletion an article does not have to prove that its subject is notable, just give a reasonable indication of why it might be notable." I think having taken such a famous photograph qualifies as "indication of why it might be notable" so I've removed the tag. I have absolutely no problem with your removal of the Speedy Delete tag from the Weddle entry. I'm a believer in collaborative effort and hope and expect that people with other points of view and expertise won't hesitate to step in and change things I do (well, when done in good faith like this). The whole idea of "notability" isn't exactly written in stone in any case. I tend to leave those arguments to the one's who know best (sometimes it's even me!). Speedy Deletion of New Articles

Would appreciate your input on the instantaneous speedy deletion of articles Offset Paperback Mfrs., Inc. and Pocono Academy Systems, especially in light of the fact that the {{{hangon}}} template tag was used and discussion pages were open for both. Fazul (talk) 15:15, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Though I tagged those pages with a speedy delete template (specifically, for criterion G11, advertising) the actual deletion of the articles was done by a wikipedia administrator - I am personally unable to delete any pages. In my opinion, the articles were solely about those two companies for the purpose of advertising them. An encyclopedic style would have resulted in slightly longer articles, and cited authoritative third party sources (e.g., newspaper and/or magazine articles) establishing the notability of the companies. Also, based on your user page, you also have to consider the issue of conflict of interest. Since you state that you are the owner of Pocono Academy Systems, and that you were until recently an employee of Offset Paperback Mfrs., Inc. this is an area of concern. Personally, I've found I'm at my best when I'm creating or editing an article about someone or something in which I have interest, but no conflicts in that interest. Lots of people do edit articles in which they are an interested party, but the best ones disclose their relationship, and work scrupulously on writing a neutral toned description that is appropriately sourced and cited. --Quartermaster (talk) 17:26, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

I still have to point out how difficult it is to "attack" someone who is anonymous. Who am I to judge that you being anonymous is akin to cowardice? Just one humble wikipedian, no more. Your defensive responses speak loudly. Anyway, my "spamming" (please look up spam) shouldn't bother an anonymous poster much since any perceived attacks can never be attached to the anonymous poster (you) in the first place. Not all people who work in higher education are "professors" (see Conservapedia's article on Obama regarding the appropriate, or inappropriate, use of that title). I have a higher calling - if you check my non-anonymous user profile you'll see that I am a librarian. Don't worry. I don't let my political affiliations affect my service to my constituents. I have supported faculty researchers, with no reservations, who research positions with which I disagree. Deletion appeal for 88-keys "Adam's Case File" album

I appreciate the further description of this matter. Information regarding this album was found at an independent website, not the artists MySpace page, personal web site or the record label web page. This is not a collection of songs from various artists randomly created by an unreliable source. This album is produced, performed and copyrighted by 88-Keys and Decon Records. The album is available for digital download and was released to promote the major debut of 88-Keys' album The Death of Adam which will be released on October, 28, 2008, executively produced by Kanye West, which makes it a very legitimate album. Information regarding this mixtape was found at a reputable website which I did reference, and has no ties to the artist in any way. This article was made to promote the effort that 88-keys has put into his work, wherther it be this mixtape, his new album or any previous works produced and performed by him. As it relates to 88-Keys, I created this article to give people an idea about this influencial hip-hop artist and pioneer. If I cannot write an article about his work, with legitimate sources, without it being deleted then what is the point. I believe that if this article is about him, and many other websites are promoting this album, which I have referneced, making it important to the artists history, there should be no conflict of interets. This article relates to Korean influence on Japanese Culture. Korea insists on the origin of the Japanese culture though the Japanese culture received a deep influence of a Chinese culture. And, inconvenient information is deleted by their political campaigns. This text might be profitable to explain of the Japanese and Chinese disliking Korea． This article might be useful for the understanding of the problem of Asia. Ed Ruscha

My notes quote 'Heavy Industry Publications' from I Don't Want No Retro Spective', Hickey & Plagens, Hudson Hills Press 1982 p 161. The obvious other place to check is Edward Ruscha Editions, Engberg & Phillpot, Walker Art Center, 1999 vol2, which lists every book he's ever made. I wrote the article after consulting both of these (as listed) Go and check these if you wish. The first edition is very rare-unlikely to have been seen by most people writing about it. • It is a fascinating field-I'm trying to show a small number of possibilities to do with 20th c books...I personally think that there is a split between Livres d'Artistes and artist's books; in effect one deliberately invokes the natural authority of the book, the other implicitly challenges it. Check out Universal War and Une Semaine du Bonte for definite early sightings; Lettrism seems to be central to post war european production, but has unfortunately been totally forgotten....

Books I've done are fairly underground, but include [3], [4] under foundry and at my own shambolic wbsite [5] I haven't heard of Warja Honegger-Lavater but will try to check her out. I did an article recently on Takako Saito who also seems to have been airbrushed out of history too. Intelleges Deletion

Hey! I just created a page for a company intelleges and it was deleted claiming it was advertising... It is no more and ad than these companies' pages: honeywell ZogSports and walmart.
