Hi - talk pages aren't meant for communication with their subject[edit]

And you really shouldn't put your name in an edit summary. If you want me to remove it, I can. Ping me, ie write {{re|Doug Weller}} here on your talk page and sign with 4 tildes, eg ~~~~ Doug Weller talk 11:34, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

@Doug Weller: Hello, Doug. I do not know what you mean about how to answer your message. You were not clear on what steps to take to get to that point, so here is where I am contacting you. I do not regularly cruise Wikipedia, nor do I know the faintest thing about writing any code, so there’s that.

Of course, I do know what a “tilde” symbol is, but I have no idea where to copy and paste your name with the brackets and add the tilde symbols. So this is the way I am responding to you. I’m exceedingly good at catching typographical errors, and I’m afraid that is all that I have time for on Wikipedia.

Long ago—almost thirty years, now—I made photographs for some of Dr. Joe Nickell”s books as well as dust jacket author photographs. Thank you for noting the name in my edit. By now, my former Technical Writing instructor Dr. Nickell has seen it, I hope.

It seems that you are a moderator, so you may do as you please about whether or not to remove my name. It bothers me not at all, but if it is not proper Wikipedia “netiquette,” then, by all means, remove it at your leisure. Thank you.

Please help me with...

@Doug Weller: - so that you see this. PhilKnight (talk) 23:22, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Sorry, I meant add it to your talk page, as in the line just above this. I was offering to remove your name because many editors who don't use their real name as their username don't want their real name identified. You're happy with that, so there's no problem. I was just wanted to be sure it was ok. Doug Weller talk 09:02, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
